Yohoho! G'day everyone!
Twilight, dude, reaching 40 you should know how much life can throw curve balls and how finding joy in life should be treasured! If editing does that for you, then keep doing it! ^.^
If you don't feel it's as rewarding as in the past, that's a valid point, you want to feel fulfilled in life, heck everyone does at the end of the day.
With that said, you can 'retire' then come back, no worries. Musicians make so much music, most may never be heard by many, but they make music for themselves. Editors are the same.
Myself, I will be 38 next month! >_<* Damn it haha, time passes by when you're not paying attention. haven't been making anime music videos for such a long time. I joined here in 2003 having made a few Cowboy Bebop AMVs. I've done many kinds of jobs, I have a small videography business thats very, very quiet and have always been drawn to making music videos and wedding videos because of my initial amv interest. I'm currently making my first amv in like almost 15 years. For me, I've come back to it, needing some inspiration while my life is at a hump, I guess.
The reason I'm posting is I haven't been this place in a long time and appreciate it hasn't died like many old school pages. It's just curious that your life is polarizing with mine at the moment in regards to making music videos.
I'm keen to share work with people here to help give me better ideas, tips and just keep the rust from creeping up on my editing abilities while my business feels dry at the moment haha! XD

I accidentally stumbled upon this message. Lol, dude, I'm a couple of years younger and joined probably around the same time. I have a small travel/photo business that's on pause right now. But the last point... While I was making videos for a living and occasionally still do, I just posted an AMV (technically its a GMV, but who cares), and the one before that, which qualifies as an AMV, was back in 2009.JeTsudo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:05 amYohoho! Re: My Last AMV: I'm Retiring (This hurts)
Been a bit busy and was just now able to reply. Thank you for all your support guys. It means a lot and makes me realize even more why I love this place so much. So many thoughts regarding this and mostly everyone agreeing has got me thinking about things. Thank you so much. It means so much.
That being said, I would still like to do this video. Whether it leads to me being done for good or coming back at a later date, I would still love to do this video with you guys using the song "The Greatest Show" the Peter Hollens cover.
I'm going to get all the details together and hopefully have it posted in the MEP Section for recruitment at some point tomorrow as in the 31st.
Hope to see you guys there and hopefully we can work together soon.
Again, your advice means so much and I thank you so much for sharing your own stories with me. Really makes me feel like i'm not alone in this regard and the support is lovingly appreciated.

I'm not sure about getting back into it. Pretty hard to balance all my "wants" and "needs". Plus in this day and age, people seem to be more interested in sub 1min videos or so-called "edits". Which I don't like and don't feel like doing at all. I am actually not quite sure why my clip happened at all. I just felt that I am no longer bound by many nasty things, de-facto rules etc. and made something out of the most overused video and audio of all time. Simply because after all the years I still love these source materials.
