NewB mistakes

I thought it would be an entertaining idea to share some of the mistakes you may have made while learning how to make videos, be they AMVs or otherwise (I've learned a lot in just one year, I think).

I'll start with this little gem. When I first started working with video editing, I wanted to know how people did this or that special effect. So, in an effort to learn, I took Eric Jone's What Lies Beneath MPEG encode and popped it into Premiere, thinking that it would show me all of the steps taken during editting and show me how he did some of the special effects.

...Looking back, I can't believe I ever thought that would work. Lol.

well...I was errogant I guess, or just stupid, ever email people and ask them to make a dvd rip of something for yah....good thing they didn't respond....makes me feel all shameful thinking about it...

I am using a downloaded source.

I'm still on my second and third right now...so I may not be a noob of the forum, but I haven't made any Kuality vids yet either. (only done one vid total

I used much downloaded stuff for my first AMVs (it was DBZ/GT too, for shame

).

I even had some stuff with the CN watermark on it

Wel, i made the mistake of asking where a good clip library was located at, not knowing i was violating a fair few unwritten AMV laws

And i got involved in a few virtual-verbal battles.

whoops.

Halfway through my first vid I've learned that I should have cut wwwwaaaaayyyyy more clips than I did. I can't believe I wasted god only knows how many hours going through Eva at roughly 1/3 normal speed and I took maybe, maybe about 1/4 as many clips as I should have.

I'd say my BIGGEST EVER! (this was huge now i look back), on my first vid.. i used other AMV's and made it in two hours flat.... a that two minutes an hour.... worst of all it was a DBZ clip, and guess what!! I still have it!!
I'm too lazy to delete it.. and it's a reminder of how much i have progressed from that day when i opened WMM, with a system of a down song in my head...
