The Vines

I'm sure most of you have heard of them. The Vines are one of the first new mainstream bands that I'm taken a large liking to. I really like their style. It's kinda like a mixture of both grunge and 60s rock music. My favorite song by them is '1969'. It's incredible!

Craig is cool, but I think he seriously needs help. I hate the fact that the media is ignoring the fact that he has an eating disorder. If you've read the interviews in Rolling Stone and such, like I have, you probably noticed something about his bizarre eating patterns and that he freaks out about eating too much.
I hate how the media just treats how he acts as just a "plague of rockstardom". What the hell? If people would just stop being so prejudice and just realize what he's dealing with, maybe some things could get solved. I mean, I like Craig alot...but sometimes he needs to be put on tranquilizers or something.

But anyway, The Vines are awesome. Anyone else here like them?

I hate them, for me they rate somewhere above pop and just below the Strokes, anyone who is "saving" rock is just creating a plague of shit tag-a-long bands. Also I don't like their music. This is probably the most violent opinion I have about music everything else I can handle but quite frankly I think the Vines should fuck off.

I feel the same way about the Strokes that Cardinal feels about the Vines. The Vines are just o.k. to me, no better, no worse.

There's one every year and every year I get pissed off at the over hype, the only band I ever liked that was hyped was The White Stripes and even then I haven't bought an album or really want to, they were just the most tolerable.

Your local band finds big success, and you can't at least be a little happy for them?

Well, actually I hate Disturbed, so I guess you're free to hate The Vines.

i personally dont like this entire "the" bands coming in and making a mockery of music.

bands like:
The White Stripes
The Verve
The Bunghole...

bleh...maybe its just me and not liking this new wave of music i hear on the radio now a day...damn u modern rock stations...damn you!!

Fuck rock, Fuck hip hop, fuck pop, fuck grunge, fuck punk, fuck every single genre that you can think of, Everyone should stop playing a certain type of music, and start being 100% totally unconditionally original, which means that every song, of every band could have its own genre.

and there would be no limit to how one might express one's self through their music, and you wont have to make your music "Rockier" or "Hip Hoppier" or "Punkier" because the end result should be totally original, and should not sound like anything else that anyone has ever heard.
