Kenshin on CN is a sin. (super delayed post)

i don't see any big deal. i mean yeah they censor things but you know the reality is they are somewhat required to otherwise they can't show it at all. so if you want to blame anyone blame the fcc. i mean i still remember back when they couldn't even allow the guys in dbz to say die or death or even really show blood but instead showed muddy dark masses. but look at them now they swear, they bleed, they bleed a lot, and they can make a hell of a lot of sexual conotations and whatnot as well. they've gotten better, but until they make an official anime, movie channel or something this is about the best people can do.

although what i find funny is the fact that they couldn't mention dying or anything in dbz and yet when you go back to things like bugs bunny, what was that thing elmer fudd was yelling while he stabbed a spear into a hole...." kill the rabbit, kill the rabbit" stupid fcc and being all ass backwards. the censors need to realize that animation does not mean it's for kids and learn to be as open as the japanese and so many other countries are with such things. that and the fact that the youth of today is nowhere near as innocent and ignorant as it was so long ago. that ends my rant. Although I agree with your points, I guess the reason I am mad is that it's one of my favorite shows and a lot of people in America will now get an incorrect interpretation of it. As mentioned in previous posts, a lot of scenes that are *very* important to the story (and the reason I like Kenshin) will be left out. I'd prefer people not see a butchered version and hate it than have it shown at all. I hope that makes sense...

I totally agree. America needs to loosen up its tight ass standards. We are so caught up in thinking that we've got it all down, while we're only country that's still in its infancy. If we're not careful we'll fall flat on our arrogant face. Our feet are already tangled up in the cords of economic recession, as we speak. I think we as a country need to get our heads out of the clouds and realize that the way we operate isn't absolute and open our minds to new ideas.

anyways...

chang, don't forget that after all these americans get that wrong interpretation they're all also going to say they know more about than you. Because it's on Toonami and they watch it "every day"

That's another reason to be pissed.

Oh I agree. I *hate* when people try to tell me what an anime is like because they saw the dub on cartoon network. I can't wait for them to do this with one of my favorite shows :(. I know people are gonna laugh at the fact that I love Soujirou so much since the dub of him is HORRIBLE.

I also collect cels and this will make Kenshin cels insanely high :( :( :(. I remember when DBZ cels were like 10 bucks :(. Another reason to hate this :-P
