i was wondering if it as ok to use footage from other amv's as long as i gave them said what amv's i used

Well, generally it's looked down upon. But hey, I've done it too. It seems that most people don't mind that you use other people's footage, so long as you don't include any transistions or effects added by the original creator.

Give the person credit in the video description and I don't think you will have any problems.

The best suggestion I can give you is to ask to the creators if you can use their videos in this way... unless you are keeping your video private, in which case should be ok.

ok....technically you can use someones whole damn AMV if you wanted to as footage.....b/c none of us has any copyrights to it.........so we have no rights to the footage nor the songs we use unless we actually have the rights......but i don't think anyone does nor would be willing to go down that long road of legality.....

Ok so to answer although you can use another person's whole damn AMV and call it your own.......its not that highly looked upon....ppl will even make an issue for your just for using a clip or using the same song off their AMV........even copying an Anime/Song combination from someone and that person will still make a problem for you even if you took no footage.

Even just doing a different AMV than someone else's but using the same type of effects can land you in to problems.

-An example of this was "Machine - Perfect Blue - NIN - Closer" which had effects extremely similiar to "ErMaC - Neon Genesis Evangelion - NIN - Closer".

Both are actually really good you should download both and see exactly what i'm talkin' about. Oh and be sure to leave opinions. Its always good to do that heh.

Anyway basically in the end its really up to you how you wanna go about doin' your AMVs.

damnit!...some how it double posted........(sighs) we need to edit and be able to delete our posts.....or maybe i should be a mod.....god that be so much easier....sighs......damn......hmn......atleast we should have a list of mods......I wanna know who i can contact in case this kinda stuff happens.....damn....
