I'm Canadian and luckily we're not even going in until the UN says theres need for a war. Hopefully there won't be a need since they'll probably just go in, bomb the hell outta some place and get out, or we'll join in so much later they won't need us. And lets face it, good old Canadian troop ingenuity and ass kicking isn't exactly needed in a war where most of the fighting will be done from the air down.

Just so you know, prices in Britain are, if I'm not mistaken, close to $5/gallon (yes they use pounds and litres, this is a rough estimate), and they make it to work everyday... I don't think the entire country has collapsed just yet... That, and there's public transportation, carpools, walking, bicycles... it'll be harder, but it has been worse in the past.

Just stating the facts and aproximations, bk : ) I still like ya!

heh heh, at least you have public transportation, the only public transportation around here is the fucking school bus, the city buses don't run this far away from the city (i live about 15 minutes from the city but not in the boonies i at least have cable internet) and as far as a cab's concerned it'd be cheaper to drive... carpooling.... lol i'd be suprised if anybody would let me carpool (i'm too fucking fat and i'm a freak ^_^ ) but i'm sure it wouldn't be that big of a deal if i lived in a city not far from work ect... and dun worry i'm not a big enough asshole to be angry at somebody for stating something like that, now maybe if somebody said something about my wife i would.... but i'm not easily offended...

Hey nightowl: Completely off topic, but I just noticed you live in Charlotte. You work for some sort of video production company dont you? I'm thinking I might like to break into something like that, but what sort of experience/education is required?

LoL!

Well I for one am glad we share peaceful neighbors to the north and south. May our countries share peace and freedom now and in the future.

Mr. Bush?

I'd always been partial to Dubya.

Contact me on AIM and I'll tell you all about the state of the film industry in North Carolina - it takes a little while : )

I must say, I would quote MCWagner, but... I'd rather simply say I do agree with everything you've said. Not much more I can say!

bk, you've made my day with this statement:

WWWIII??!! What the hell. Ok, anyone saying this gonna turn into that is a complete fucking moron. For this to turn into a world war, Iraq would need a little thing called ALLIES! Didnt any of you study up on what caused the 1st world war, that whole entangled alliances thing. Iraq doesnt really have many friends in the middle east. I think its been war atleast once with each of its neiboors. Lets see, went to war with Iran all durring the 80s, invaded Kuwaitt in the 90s with plans to take over Saudi Arabia...yeah, not the most popular guy in that region. The length of this war will most likely be counted in hours instead of days. Back in 91 it only took a week, and Saddam had the 4th strongest army on the planet at that time.

You know why im pretty sure this war isnt that bad of an idea. One major thing sticks out in my mind. Israel. Now, for those of you dont know, unlike France, Israel will actually be some danger(well, more than usual) once this war breaks out because it is within firering range of Saddam. Back 91 durring the durration of the war Israel had all kinds of shit launched it. Theres another thing Israel has a lot of people dont seem to know about. Its called the Mossad, and it is hands the down the most elite foriegn intelligents agency ever. Even their lower level guys could run circles around the CIA. So the point is, if anyone knows what Saddams got, its the Mossad. And whatever info the Mossad has collected is obviously enough to convince Israel that its worth putting their country at risk now. Just something to think about.

Oh and for those calling for isolationism, sorry, the US tried that twice already last century and it didnt work out to well. It would be nice if the world was perfect and everyone played by the rules, then maybe that might work, but thats never gonna happen.

While the war itself will probably be short, the worst case scenario is that this conflict will further distabilize the region, leaving the U.S. in a protracted engagement. And truth be told, this is what I am most worried about.

Regardless, all of us need to remember that war isn't pretty.
