While I'm gone in the summer, I need somebody else to be able to dish out first-draft character segments to those interested. Any volunteers?

By then, I should be able to do that, Pie. But we'll have to wait and see.

Sounds good. Thanks, Flint. :)

Also (forgot to mention this on the thread sooner) low-quality/first-draft character segments are ready to be given out. You'll have to get them from me on AIM though. Bandwidth is hard to come by with an empty wallet. :P

I'm interested. Keep my posted. I absolutely *love* Locke and Celes themes (although you could debate that that part of the song is one piece) an would love to edit to either.

Just read through the entire thread and am currently listening to the song. There seems to be a few problems with namely: Celes/Locke and Edgar/Sabin. There music is pretty much very intertwined. I believe Celes portion (~6:11 - 7:02) is immediately followed by Locke's portion (~7:02 - 7:24). Would it be best to just meld these together since the editor who gets Locke would only get a 22 second clip?

Edgars portion (~2:18 - 2:50) and Sabin's portion (~2:50 - 3:03) is the same case.

I'd suggest assigning each of these as one track since they are ~1:00 a piece. Also they both are somewhat symbiotic (proper usage of word?). You kind of need the other to do the first better.

For example, if I were assigned Celes/Locke I would definitely got for a couple relationship in an anime like Hitomi/Celes and Vaughn/Locke. IIRC the ending scene in FFVI is Celes running, she falls and is about to lose her grip and Locke saves her. I could easily transition into something like Vaughn flying down to save Hitomi or some junk like that. See what I'm getting at? I'd recommend these tracks be assigned in conjunction or at the very least the two editors working together. Just my two cents.

Well here's my suggestion...

This whole thing will take a long time to finish, Pie is definitely allowing for that. I say we should try and find remixes of each character's part. I know there's a few here but that won't be all of them by a long shot. If this is possible, I think we should try for it. I know I can remix my part and maybe some others if I can find the time. And then, it would be easy to string each part back together in the end... I'm sure I could do that too. And we don't need any fancy remixes, this isn't a dance video. In fact, I see most of these parts as pretty slow, focusing on a correlation between the anime character and the game character. But it would be a little more original to find remixes for each part instead of just using the end song.

I see your points, but I rather like the original BGM from the SNES version :). I know it's sort of ghetto, but I don't think I'm the only one. In fact, if this were to be shown at a convention or something, I think the nostalgic factor alone of playing the original music (the 17 minute ending song) would be great. I don't generally like remixes of game music (other than a handful of Chrono Trigger songs). Just my two cents.

Don't get me wrong, I like the song too. I'm a big fan, but there is such a thing as a good remix. We don't need it to be all techno like and fast and distorted. Sometimes, remixes have even more nostalgic value.
