  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Who knows how long the guide would be

There's only one tiny insignificant technical flaw I can point out in the video but it's like finding the regular ant in a whole batch of army ants. :?

It's not that hard.

Mine's original, I think. :?

And ShonenDizzyCow has made some pretty nice, original vids.

Anyway... about Koop's vid here. I don't see how you can call it trendy. I mean, maybe a trend-setter... I've never seen anything like this. Not even Shameless Rock Video or Arima Shinjikun. He just took effects to their highest limit. But that doesn't mean it's not original.

I see now Paul, it makes sense and I applaud that you're always looking for that original concept. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I tend to dwell on relationships between the characters of a story. Come to think of it, most of my videos are like that and I guess that's what I'm drawn to. Call me sappy, unimaginative or what you will, but that's the type of videos I love to make and the kind that interests me most. Don't get me wrong, I love originality in videos, but the sort of oddball/clever type of video like This Is DBZ Life just isn't what I envision. People will do what interests them most, but a truely original concept really is hard to find, or rather.. hard to execute. There are plenty of truely original concept videos out there, but they just usually not popular which is why you haven't seen them. I'd like to point a few out right now, but I'd have to search through what I've seen and even they might not seem original to you. My suggestion is to look past some of the popular videos that are talked about and try searching for others not so well known. If you still can't find any, try making one yourself.. you'll probably find it much harder to execute the idea than you may think. |:

Could probably create some image masks in Photoshop (the shapes he has), import those on a video layer, create some motion settings and voila....now that is OVERLY simplified since you would need to probably do a lot of frame by frame editing. However, I think you could do a primitive version of these in Premiere.

elaborate...

Unfortunately (perhaps fortunately), I am the same. Most of my videos usually focus on a relationship or character and trying to "capture" it so to speak. Now Paul mentioned that this is uncreative like "Character X loving Character Y," but as Koop says, it's what I see and what I like editing.

Don't get me wrong though, I agree with you on the originality points, but at the same time, the word original is immediately associated with "not that many existing"...hence the originality yes? It's only natural you aren't see that many original videos :).

As I said before (and Koop has), I create what I see in my head and am motivated/inspired to do. Unfortunately, it's not anything that creative. At the same time though, I think unoriginal videos can (and are) still enjoyable. I think unoriginal ideas like love and whatnot can still be done and thus be enjoyed. And regardless (as you noted Paul), we have fun doing it regardless and enjoy our own work.

BTW I find your posts pretty interesting Paul, so by no means am I trying to discourage you.

Yes magix is the uber editor that magixly makes all vids like Euphoria :O
You just insert the dvd and pick the music and bam your done >:P

I'm assuming your not serious but really I think theres a few ppl that think these effects were easy, like you just drag and drop them in the timeline :l Then theres those ppl that think they can't do these effects because they are too hard, well they are hard to do but with enough effort you can. I mean alot of ppl don't spend more than a week doing a vid much less a month or 4 O_O And I don't mean a couple hours on the weekends for a month.
