Looking for a "General" Anime convention.

Loooo all.

I'm looking for an Anime Convention that'll accept any form of anime. Not just Japanese anime. Most of them only take Japanese animation and there's alot of more anime out there.

Anybody know of some. I'm looking for websites as I'm in South Africa and cant get the details from here.

I guess I should have said :

an Anime convention that accepts Anime Music Videos of ANY anime. Not just Japanese anime.

I wish I could help you, but my knowledge of generic animation conventions with music video contests is non-existant. I don't even know if they exist given that most non-Japanese animation companies are angered by the use of their animation without expressed written permission, Disney being first in line, and as such holding a convention that would allow people to make music videos of any animation would be a lawsuit waiting to happen. Of course, I could be entirely wrong on the situation, thats just my assumption based on my knowledge of corporate defense of trademarks.

Eh, that aside, there are animation festivals worldwide that allow you to create your own animations and submit them in whatever form you so desire, musical accompanyment included.

Guess I'll just have to get 5 or so people to give me straight 10's for a review to get me on the top 10% list

I wouldn't do that. But that's sad to hear but sorta makes sence. Though I've seen alot of AMV's that's got NON Japanese anime in that competed in conventions.

My biggest problem is that I live in South Africa and the only way that I know of a convention is if it's mentioned on the board. So I dont know of conventions that might accept my music vid.

Maby I should ask Phade to make a new "Place" on the forum where people can post info on conventions and when it's apenning.
