I tried the lossless way, it look slightly better, but I had to save it at 25 mb per sec. Then I tired to convert it with the stoik convertor, but the conversion come out like crap. I can't use Vdub to convert them because of that copyright stuff it says when I try. Anyway, if I can't get the size down without a major quality hit I'll never be able to send anyone movie as far as I can see....

wait.. so ur held back by a copyright? strange... :?

haha.. i forgot to mention that VDub won't accept wmv files. a way to do this is to use a program called GraphEdit to change ur wmv into an avi, and then open that up in VDub. this way, u should export ur vid from WMM using the best quality, and then re-encode to a smaller size in VDub after using GraphEdit.

but yea, WMM's compression methods suck! i think u should get WMM2 from Microsoft.

yah try and open a microsoft file in vdub in the higher versions and it say you can't do it b/c of copyright basically. I guess an earlier version let you, atleast that's my understanding. I didn't know there was a wmm2, is that the beta update or is this a totally different program with better features?

Anyway, the wmm I got now can save as avi but it still only works in wmp. I guess if graphedit can convert the files to avi and then I can compress again with Vdub.

Okay I'll try that and tell you how it goes, oh and I'll see about wmm2. I don't suppose anyone has a link to graphedit.... I'll look on doom

Okay the wmm2 can compress and keep quality fairly well, but its still a wms file, which isn't the norm as far as I can tell. Anyway, anybody wanna see my amv?
