want a brand over my AMV's

hy folks
i'm a newbie for making amv's but i wont to start it professionall
i'm working with adobe premiere 6.0 and i read that this program can do overlay 2 different videos - like transparent

so can anybody explain me how to do this ??

put one of the videos in the "video2" line, and the other one in the "video1A" line.

Now you can choose transparency settings for the video in "Video2", either by right clicking on it and selecting "transparency settings" or by moving the thin red line that appears on the clip on Video2.

a mod sure can replace it
i found what you told me to do but it doesn't work
i has created a 640x480 blue scree with a logo right down in the corner, put it in the video2 and experiment with the transparency settings - but it doesn't work

You're probably best off using the transparency 'rubber bands' . With two or more video tracks in the timeline window, you need to expand the tracks- there is a little arrow on the left of the timeline that you can click that will reveal the transparency 'rubber band' for the track, it usually looks like a red line running along the top of the space that it's in. If you click on and drag a point on that line up or down (it starts off at 100% opaque, at the top) you will be modifying the transparency of that clip. You won't actually see the transparency though until the project (or at least that section) has been previewed (though this might not be the case if you're working with a RTE card, but that's probably not the case). To do this, make sure the work area (the yellow bar at the top of the timeline) includes the section you want to see, and hit 'ENTER' on your keyboard. This will render the section and play it with all the effects and transparencies. If you try viewing the video without previewing it, you'll likely just see the 'lower' clip.

One word of caution, though- unless used well, transparency can just as easily make a video look more unprofessional than professional. If you're new to making AMVs, you might want to try making a fairly simple one with just straight cuts or simple transitions to get a feel for things before playing with transparency. I've seen a few too many videos where editors overlaid two very busy scenes where it would have been much better and cleaner to have just used one. Good luck!

I hope that you aren't planning on putting a logo throughout the entire video, if so I suggest not too. It will distract from your videos, I tried the same thing about year ago and I ended up ruining my video due to that and I have regetted it ever since.

I made a bug for one of my videos, once, and here's what I did.

I made the video completely without the bug, and exported it without compression.
I then imported the finished video into a new project of Premiere, and placed that video in the "Video 2" track. After that, I selected the video, and checked transparency, and overlayed the picture throughout the whole video(using image matte).

You need to make sure that your bug isn't just the whole picture. You should make the size of the picture you're putting your bug in the exact same size as the resolution of your video. Then place the bug in the corner, save, and use image matte.

-shrugs- It's primitive and worked good enough for me.

Okay, it might be best if you replaced the blue with white or grey(That's what I did and it worked fine, but I could be wrong).

When you go in transparency settings, you want to use image matte, and chose your bug from wherever it is. (Desktop, C drive, etc..)

Personally, working with the rubber bands for a bug in the corner of my video was a little too much work for me.

Hope that helps you if Ashyukun's method doesn't work..

Oh, then of course, you have to hit enter to preview if the image matte works--
I just use the slice tool to get a whole different clip about five sconds long and preview that.. If it works for the first 5 or so seconds of the video, it should work for the whole thing since it should all be one clip.

You shouldn't need to use the slice tool to just preview a section- just adjust the work area to cover the section you want to preview, or if you want to see how it looks on full-export, just change the export settings from "Entire Project" to "Work Area".
