It may sound stupid but it's the way shit goes. It's kind of like being charged with multiple life sentences back to back.

I guess the court doesn't want you thinking there's a maximum punishment. Oh no. They want you to know that you'll be in jail until you're dead....deader.... and deaderer.

On good behaviour, you can be out of jail in roughly 25 years, with a single life sentence

Life sentence does not equal the rest of your life in jail

It's a set number of years.

Yes, you could, only he was there for roughly a week before an inmate bashed in his cranium with a steel pipe. He also did not make very many friends.
