  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Premiere doesn't have that sort of motion maniplution basically because Adobe want you to buy After Effects.

Premiere is good for lots of things... but it's not an all-in-one package. It's just basic editing (and not bad basic editing either).

Chain of Reaction: "Euphoria" + Newbie
--------------------------------------------------
1. Newbie sees "Euphoria"
2. Newbie asks about how to do the effects and editing software
3. Newbie hears of Premiere and acquires it
4. Newbie asks around of how to do those effects in Premiere
5. After hearing many different stories, Newbie finally hears that he can't do them in Premiere

Five easy steps of destroying one's soul! :D

I have no clue as to why I posted this. It just seemed fitting.:wink:

(nod nod) I had a suspicion such effects would require AE. I mean, I think most of us know how to image mask, but I don't know how to create a "motion" image mask without well...creating each image mask individually and "fool" the viewer that there is motion (shrug).

creating a motion image mask isnt that difficult - see track mattes.

The problem is the nature of premiere motion settings. They are pretty limited sometimes.

Also track mattes start getting weird in multiples.

Well, actually there are ways to to the same thing in Premiere as in After effects somewhat, but they requre the use of Photoshop, lots more time, become much more labour intensive and are just plain better to do in AE.. Quite frankly Abobe should combine the two and start seriously looking at compeating with Final Cut Pro...

I think your knowledge in this is the reason why you and Ian are good and I create mediocrity :-P. I only learned about Image Masks recently with my 4th video :( (and here I thought I was cool).

I agree on Adobe though. I read a very thorough article (I think on the Inquirer) about how Adobe is truly behind in the video-editing software (at least Premiere:FCP). If anything, they need to take care of the efficiency of the program. FCP works so much more nicely (and on slower computers mind you).
