Fuck that. I'm buying the remasters the day they come out and never buying another Eva DVD again.

Since they won't have English subs, dubs, or anything, the money spent on the Perfect Collection will not have been a complete waste.

Hold on, you have the perfect collection and are still going to buy the remaster? That's kind of a waste of money (well to me). The remaster probably won't have english subtitles lilke your perfect collection, so to watch it, you'd have to put in your perfect collection anyway. I assume you might be using it for source, but I can't justify some 400 - 500 bucks just for AMV source, but that's just me.

I say if you wanna just watch the show..as in understand the translation...stick with what you got. I'd hate to have to read some paperscript while watching.

hang on hang on, if you already have the perfect collection, you've proprably seen it a few times, so you will get the gist of the series even without subs, beside listen to anything in a language long enough, and you will understand it, at least this works for me, anyhow, you know when shinji is ever 1) whinging 2)bitching or 3)(a rare case) happy!
same applies to all the characters, so watching it all without subs, shouldn't be a propblem, for n00bs maybe, but not for those who have seen the series a few times, and yes i will be getting the renewal, along with my half complete series on dvd, damn you ADV, taking so long <shakes fist angryly in the air, generaly at nothing>

Dang, y'all must have a lot of money and must REALLY want that quality. I mean I can see the quality issues, but it's not THAT big of a deal (that big being 400 - 500 bucks). Also, when watching anime, it doesn't have to be perfect for me. The human eye may be able to see it, but not to the point of OMG mein eyes! I guess it's different for everyone and how much it means to you. I personally could probably understand what was going up, but at the same time it would annoy me to have to look things up when I could just watch my ADV DVDs and read what's going on.If you know Japanese though...well...that's another story entirely.

to tell the truth, i know very little japanese, can string together the odd sentense, can sing in japanes (providing i have the words in front of me ((do a great punk version of cruel angels thesis)), but ive watched the subs of eva so much, that i can almost recite the entire series to you, but i wont, since it would take for ever!

p.s, i have very little money and was thinking of setting up a charity

Well like I said, if it's worth it to you...no sense in arguing it. For me, the quality isn't bad enough to justify it. Given, it is one of the worse Anime DVD releases in quality, but all I wanna do is watch the show and not have to deal with my shitty fansubs.

I do agree on the japanese thing. I have taken 4 years in high school (which equates to that of like 4 year old

), but I seem to pick up things through anime as well. I, embarassingly admit, that I can also sing a few anime songs

well, i've been waiting about 7 weeks for hmv to get my perfect box set ... and i'm gettitng very pissed off ... I think somone took the courier with my packate, removed his kneecaps with a spoon and dropped him off in alaska ... that has to be the only *logical* explination as to why it' staking so long to get it ... but if i really want .. i could spend that money on readily available anime, and wait for them to release the remastered perfect box set ... danm whats the best choice ... too much thinking ... head hurts ... no graphs of quartic functions an imaginary numbers are popping up in my mind ... now i'm fucked ... arg! divide by pi over zero ... warning hard drive meltdown immenent .. have a nice day ... gack! ...

Err...well I wouldn't hold my breath over the "Perfect remastered box set" just yet. No one in the US has announced rights to it yet and hell it hasn't even come out in Japan.

As for dividing Pi by zero...good luck first defining pi
