Las Vegas any where in the distant future?
Hey .. it's shad again .. i know it mite seem crazy but i wonder somes times why there are no conventions here in Las Vegas.. I read some where on a site that the drinking would be a problem.. along with the casinos..but i mean really if you come to an anime convention that is what you come for .. plus there is the Adventure Dome for the younger crowd and if you are over 21 and feel like going on the strip go for it.. hehe .. i just don't see why we can't have a convention here in Vegas.. that's all i wanna know.. ..it would be nice to have one here.. hehe but i guess i'll go to the AnimeExpo this year.. Muahaha.. is there any way to get a convention started ?

When I was in Vegas and was talking with Ben he said that in Vegas anime conventions pretty much suck and that there really isn't a big deal about them so sadly you are pretty much out of luck. The drive to CA ain't so bad though if you awnt to make it to one of the conventions there.

No Vegas cons
I'm not sure how he can say Vegas anime conventions suck when there has NEVER been an anime convention in Vegas.
I know some people that looked into it a while back. It was WAY too expensive. As a result, it's highly unlikely you'll see one in Vegas anytime soon.
For a list of conventions that ARE out there, see this list:

Ah...
Just come out to California. 4 hours isn't to bad. Less if you drive fast and don't get caught. Hay I drive 6 to get to Fanime and Yaoi con each year. I've been tempted to drive out to Texas conventions, but just don't have that kind of time. If you have the time, you may consider Texas, or even Northern California. (For a northern California convention, drive to southern california then carpool/catch a ride up with someone from southern california.)

I live in Vegas too and THANK GOD I am leaving this place for college in about two months. I haven't even HEARD of conventions out here.
But think about it - there is the tourism anyway but other than that, we are surrounded by mountains on all sides and there's NOTHING for about a 4 hour radius. It would be pretty illogical for people to come HERE for cons when it is just as easy to go out to one (where there aren't casinos to distract the kiddies, etc.)
We're just stranded in the middle of the desert, haha.
