2 crazy movies comming out

The first is "underworld," I just found out about it via a pop up ad. I checked out the trailer and I see the potential to be really really cool or awful.
Second movie is called "Van Helsing." Here is IMDB.com's plot summary:
The Universal Pictures project pits Jackman, in the role of vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing, against three creatures from the studio's vintage horror years -- Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolf Man. The story reimagines the studio's monsters in a late Victorian drama, taking Dr. Van Helsing to Eastern Europe in a quest to vanquish the creatures.

Now I have yet to see the anime Hellsing, is there any similarities between the anime and the summary of this movie?

Just thought I'd point this stuff out.

well..if I remember, there was actually a german docter known as Dr. Victor Van Helsing. But there was a fictionalized version of him in Bram Stokers famous novel,"Dracula". If you trying to pit similarities based on the names, your probably mistaken.

I too have yet to see Hellsing, but from what I've seen and heard of it, there is no real similarity other than hunting vamps and demons.

It would be funny if Van Helsing's character was played by Anthony Hopkins, who played as the '93 movie adaptation of Van Helsing in "Bram Stokers: Dracula" which didn't really follow the book all too well (but it was still a cool movie to watch) , but he played the crazy scientist quite well, at least I thought so O.o..

I've seen a couple eps of Hellsing. First =\ there are two L's in the anime name. The main charcter in the anime is Alucard, his man enemies are people who have turned into vampires which only he can kill by doing the same tricks over and over again, episode after episode. The orignization he works for is called Hellsing, that's where the anime gets it's name.

I don't see any real simularities between the two. =\

yeah I didnt think there would be a connection. And thanks for reminding me about Helsing in Dracula, I had completly forgoten about that guy. But hopefully these movies "Underground" and "Van Helsing" will have more to them than special effects.
