what to do....
here's the thing......
i have over 20 episodes of anime fansubs encoded in DIVX. Of course we all know they dont work well in premiere so i need to encode to another file that will work well in premiere.
First i tried MJPEG out of virtul dub with a quality of 20(max) and 1 episode was 5 gigs...which is way too much. I tried 1/2 the quality and the file size was 500 megs which was good but the quality was terrible.
Absolute helped me a little before giving up and going to sleep with the avs file. I tried one episode and i put the location and stuff in the avs file.....it played in the media player but did not go into premiere. Premiere said i was missing a codec or driver.
well then i just said screw it!! i'll just try tmpgenc.......the quality either didn't come out great or the time to encode was going to take 2-3 hours and episode -_-
help please

Get a new, bigger hard drive and convert everything to Huffyuv, or get the DVDs to use as your source. Those are really the best two options.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

You're 16, so you can get a job.
Really, you have no other good options. Buying DVDs would let you make a high-quality product; getting a big hard drive would help prevent any further loss from your current crappy-looking source.
The optimal solution would be to get a big hard drive and use it to rip more DVDs and to give yourself additional scratch space.

hell, I have a 40GB HD and I'm lasting with 5GB free to encode the rest of my Cowboy Bebop eps (using a ripping method which involves CladDVD XP, DVD2AVI and finally TMPGEnc) from the DVD. Once I delete the vobs from the DVD, I'll have about 13GB. My advice is to buy the DVDs and rip them.
3 hours an ep isn't that bad. I've got an AMD 450MHz PC, it takes 2 and a half to 3 hours to encode one episode and that's with leaving the PC alone.
Project Navi: MJPEG is a codec. It's an advanced for of MPG, or some shiznit like that.
