Although, I didn't pass 5th grade untill I was 15
Well the closest thing I could think of for kids today would be something like tales of a 4th grade nothing whatever age group that is. Btw have you seen Educational books from back then? They are alot bigger and get straight to the point than todays books.
Purity is wackable!

No I could see it being written for children, but I thought the original ideas (that he obviously made into a book) came from a drug-induced hallucination. Also, although I did not take the course in HS (Great books and film), I hear there are quite a few meaningful things within both of them.Mroni wrote:You know it was written for children what people fail to realize about the book is that Caroll was a mathemitician he liked puzzles and he liked children. He did write the book for kids and it's sequal through the looking glass which people tend to confuse with alice in wonderland. Through the looking Glass is actually a chess game if you look at all the moves she makes. I think the best way to sum up alice is a kids book with adult references kind of like animaniacs.

Yes. Caroll was a huge Opium addict. Much of what he wrote was based on his hallucinations. It also explains the numerous drug references within Alice in Wonderland.dwchang wrote:No I could see it being written for children, but I thought the original ideas (that he obviously made into a book) came from a drug-induced hallucination. BTW I find it quite disturbing that a topic like THIS might be the one to reach the record. Really goes to show where our minds are. Then again the last few posts have been about classic literatures which I find to be quite the opposite of the topic (yay!).

Hey, I could combine the two topics and mention Clamp's (truly awful) Alice derirative. Hey, I just did!
