Once again, AV Connection has descended upon the city of Adelaide. Offering a weekend of anime and gaming bliss for anyone who attends. Notable additions for this years convention include: (these are factual statments)
Talking to the pro's and those who think they are, events
A Japanese Rock band, imported from Melbourne
AMV events in a bar environment
More DDR than I can poke a big stick at
A place to crash at the con
More game machines than AX 2002
The city's entire supply of Pocky
... and more, I think.
I could drop a link, or you could check my sig...

AV Connection Update
Well I could make an update thread, or I could just bump this one? No, new thread? That's what I thought.
Well it sems that AV Connection will be getting two premieres again this year... Although they aren't as big as Cowboy Bebop or Love Hina (last years). They are series I am still quite fond of. Our Premieres for 2003 are Onegai Teacher and Full Metal Panic. Yeah I know.... Chobits is being realeased a month before the con. Damnit! Gah, it's bad and good at the same time.
We also may be getting the Australian premiere of Halo 2. So far things have been very positive, but it's only at the semi-official stage. Those monkeys at Nintendo Australia still haven't contacted us yet. Sony are cool with things and as soon as they find something to give us we'll all be happier.
What else...? Oh yes. I've been given a screening room and a whole lot of bean-bags. Sadly, the AMV events this year will not be held in the bar, but we'll still be selling alcohol to any attendees over 18, so it's not all bad. This is partly due to the bean-bag issues. And the re-allocation for that screening area to anime series. I'm still looking for more AMVs for the competition, I could always do what Manifest are doing and open it internationally... but so far AV Connection has been the only successful AMV competiton in Australia, so I don't think I'll be taking advice from them. If anyone wants a video shown at the convention PM me and I'll see what I can do.
