I'd watch it. I look at it this way. ADV has the promotional clout necessary to make sure word gets out and that people know what to expect, Gainax made the original series (any word on if Anno himself is directly involved in a directorial position? I imagine he'd decline, I think he severed ties with Gainax and the Evangelion franchise after EoE, but I am unsure and may be operating off of speculation) so it has a chance of not getting horribly mangled and completely overhauled to the point of being unrecognizeable, and if Weta did the SFX work for LOTR, then they are damn good at what they do so we know it won't look cheesy and hokey (well, as much as a live action giant bio-mechanical android can not look cheesy and hokey). I highly doubt it will be as good as the original series, and it may take some hits to the original goodness, but I am choosing to remain cautiously optimistic as to whether or not it will suck ass.

Now, Live Action Kite? That just screams Troma Films to me... ick.

I am a little reluctant, but they didn't just compile a scrap heap of a team to create this. Hopefully, these people will live up to the expectations, which are EXTREMELY high...
