Getting now...

And from what Trythil said, my part is a bit off too.

I think the list on the page is missing some stuff. For example, I don't see Azumanga Daioh or Tenchi Muyo In Love on there at all.

I didn't have any audio sync problems with it, but I was seeing 40-50% proc usage playing it in WMP8, on a P4 2.53 GHz machine. :?

I made a copy and changed the fourcc to DIVX using the abcavi tag editor, which didn't kill the file OR help proc usage. It might help with audio sync on slower machines, though, particularly in conjunction with ffdshow and a more efficient player.

Did Dannywilson just get a little pissed off about the razzing over the delays, and throw up this huge encode in a fit of anger? I suppose that's possible. Careful encoding at a more reasonable size, like 480x352 would probably be a better idea for something this long. It would almost certainly cut the processing horsepower needed for playback down considerably, and it might be possible to get it under 100 megs, and upload it to the carrot. (/me looks around for Tab)

I too, noticed what appeared to be some missing names/segments in the credits listed on the video's page.

Overall, there's a lot of nice work done on this project, and the participants should be proud. :D

Hurrah for the public beta...I guess.

At least this trance score had more variety to it better than MI1's, though it was still trance...*sigh*

Argh...one more thing...

Klinky...what anime is your segment using (I'm guess it is your segment, anyway)? Following the Big O portion I witness a very strange anime/s that I have never seen before. The list on the Video page says "To Heart." However, being an avid To Heart fan I feel pretty comfortable saying that this to not the case.

Fill me in.

Hey..not too shabby I'd say :) considering the ups and downs that were had while it was being created. I really think everyone did a great job.. ^^ *thumbs up*

Ok this encode was made for one reason. For you people to tell me how much you hate it. The interlacing? Your fault. I had sections submitted to me in 30 fucking fps, despite all but shouting I wanted 24 from you people the whole time. 3 of the most notable are the 2 piano sections, and the Crusher Joe section. I'll go back and fix them like I did with the last M:I, even though AVS scripts can't fix everything. The 720x480? I wanted an encode people would scrutinize for errors. I went back and looked at the AVS script Tab created for the project, and it was overbloated as hell. All it needed to be was your basic Telecide and decimate script, but it was like 30 lines long. I saw the mission "improable", but I wanted you guys to catch it. This is your fucking project.

Mail me with what's wrong, and I'll do my best to fix the stuff, but being that the encode wont be ready till monday at the earliest(I'm going to akon this weekend), don't get impatient.

Thanks for bein understanding guys.

I never said it shouldn't be 720x480, I just said the aspect was wrong. (NTSC) DVDs are always 720x480, and they still manage to be either 4:3 or 16:9. (And just because most players will ignore the aspect in AVI is no reason to have it wrong, though it's possible your software won't let you set it, in which case I suppose it can't be helped.)

Just remove the odd lines and then scale it back up, their fault if it looks bad.

Video needs to be :

640x480
23.976fps

Things to fix:
"interlacing artifacts"
credits need typo fix
credits need THE EAST INDIAN MUSIC THAT WAS INCLUDED BUT DANNY DECIDED TO DELETE BECAUSE HE'S A FACIST WHO DOESN'T LIKE KLINKY'S CULTURED TASTE IN MUSIC :p

Encode needs to be a 2-pass encode. Heck, Tab is the master at encoding and cleaning stuff up. I would suggest splitting the huffYUV and then sending it to Tab for wonderful online distro. He could also make some DVDs for people. ;)
