Which Software should i use? [DANGER --> newbie]

I'd like to start making AMV's so
can somebody recommend video-software, which is easy to understand/use and tell me where i can get it?

I'm just starting myself but from what I see Adobe Premier seems to be popular. Most of the guides seem to be geared towards Adobe. The older version of MovieXone seems to have had somewhat of a following but version 4.0 seems to crash pretty readily. I downloaded MovieXone 4.0 myself and I'll probably struggle along with that for now. Once I get through a video or two I'll probably change up for Adobe Premier since there seem to be less complaints about crashes and from what I understand it offers more effects.

It doesn't really matter what you use, it's how you use it.

Unless this is WMM, in which case, bleh.
