Some problems with avs

Post by Walker-san » Mon Jun 02, 2003 8:18 pm

I know this topic has probably been beaten to death, and I did a search but came up a bit empty, so i figured I'd post it again and see what I get.

Using DVDdecryptor I ripped my vob file, then went through A&E's guide for setting it up and got going up until the part where I load the avs script into something, say virtual dub. I keep getting an error akin to this:
unrecognized exception error: ("kanon.avs", line 1)
I'm using DVD2AVI 1.76, which from what I read on the avisynth faq is the only version that works with avs scripts, plus it's what came with the AMVapp pack. my script looks like this:
MPEG2Source("c:\amv\kanon\kanon.d2v")
Telecide()
Decimate(5)
AssumeFPS(24)
and every time I attempt to load the avs script into just about anything I get that error above. I've tried it in VirtualDub with the avs plugin, Win Media Player, and Premiere 6.5. So...umm....can anyone offer a newbie some help? plz?

I had the same issue. The thing is, the website that I got DVD2AVI from said it was version 1.86 when it was actually 1.7x

Yes, AVIsynth is a finicky bitch.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.
