Tenchi Muyo! GXP now on Funimation's website
The liscensing announcement came at Acen, and now Funi has added Tenchi Muyo! GXP to their website, just giving away a small amount of info about the show and slating the shows release date to be in 2004. Unfortunately, they don't have a more precise release date *groan*
They better not keep us waiting until fall or winter of 2004. I will be seriously mad even tho I already have the whole show raw

Actually I knew about that at least 3 or 4 months before Acen. I think I read about it in an Animerica magazine.Garylisk wrote:The liscensing announcement came at Acen, and now Funi has added Tenchi Muyo! It was speculation until Acen. People don't realize that.. but those of us who have been hounding Funimation to confirm or deny it for months on end KNOW - It was just a rumor until recently. It just happens to be that the rumor was true.
It all started last year when there was a Tenchi Muyo GXP panel at a con run by AIC, the show's creators. At the panel, there was talk of several companies who were interested in the show, two of which were Pioneer and Funimation.
When asked about it, Pioneer reps said something to the effect of "I dunno who has it, but I don't think we do. Who knows, maybe Funimation got it."
That line got taken as fact, posted by Anime News Network, and soon all over the net people were saying Funi had the show.
All of us at the AIC forums didn't wanna believe it because we were favoring Pioneer as a liscencer, so we kept bugging Funimation, and they kept responding, basically saying that they wouldn't tell us who had the show because the company that had it didn't want it announced yet.
Then at Acen, it came out that Funi had it all along.
But anyway, there's already a thread about the show getting liscensed on this board. I posted this because they put info on their website.

I have recently seen the OAV's of Tenchi Universe and they are much better than the cut up Cartoon Network. some of the bath scenes and the scenes with the baby are priceless.
I ahve seen one episode of Tenchi GXP and was kinda lost because I didnt know the storyline. Now that I know more I am ready to see more.
Apparently it seems Tenchi isnt in Tenchi GXP that much. Most of it centers on a boy he went to school with.
And a new OAV? Im ready.
Any guesses who he'll choose?

That is true. The preview disc comes out next month in Japan. The actual show will be out in the fall.HPotter wrote:Big Tenchi fan!!!!! I want to see Tenchi Muyo GXP but i've also heard about the third OVA for Tenchi Muyo
That's not true, though. Sorry to be the one to break it to you There's already official word that the third OVA will be mostly focused on back story and the war between the three goddesses (The Choushin). There will be very little romantic aspect, much like OVA 1.and he finally chooses a girl....
That boy is Seina Yamada, who has the worst luck of anyone on the planet. He is a friend to Tenchi, as well as an underclassman. (He refers to Tenchi as "Tenchi-Sempai")Apparently it seems Tenchi isnt in Tenchi GXP that much. Most of it centers on a boy he went to school with.
Definitely Sakuya (Just kidding! Don't hit me! AAAAAHHH!!! )And a new OAV? Im ready.
Any guesses who he'll choose?

Garylisk - Just wondering... have you seen the 3rd OAV?
I only ask, because the people behind Tenchi Muyo said that Tenchi would make a definitive choice in the 3rd OAV. However, they did also say (as you pointed out) that this is not the focus of the OAV and that the love triangle would be in the background of the main storyline.
I was just interested in the 3rd OAV and wanted to know what was up.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

Nope, I have not seen the third OVA. It's not out yet, after all. However, all the info I have comes from reliable sources, most of which converge upon http://www.aicanime.com - Check there if you want the word from the source. Also, if you're savvy on reading Japanese, check http://www.tenchi-web.com
And as for the third OVA, here's some images from it:
