OK... the deadline for the AWA Pro contest is July 26 2003 that is one month and ten days away... and that is a IN MY HANDS deadline... not a postmake deadline... I am serious... I cut the deadline as close as I possible can to give all of you as much editing time as possible... for me this is the hardest contest to manage... so try to make my life easier... in a big change this year... only one video per person, with a maximum length of 14 minutes.
This contest is blind juding. What that means is you MAY NOT include your studio title or any type of distinguisnghin credits in your video. if it is integrated into your video, then render two copies... one with "presented by blah" and the other "presented by anonymous" or something... the point is it should not be blatantly obvious who made the video... outside of editing style... i have been lenient in the past... but with the amount of entries, i can't be anymore...
The contest is peer review. What this means is only the people who submit get to vote on the winners. This means that you have to provide three blank tapes (and if you send crap tapes i will reject them... it's my vcrs doing the coping... quality tapes... Fuji, TDK, JVC, or SONY ), and a postage paid return mailer. I will assemble all of the entries into a master list, then dupe that onto your tapes. and put them in the mailer and drop that off at the post. You will be expected to watch them, then nominate and judge them on a private website. We can't force you to watch and vote (we always get a couple who submit then ingore the judding part)... but it is considered bad form not to contribute. If there is more than 6 hours of entrants... we reseve the right to a little bit of prejudding to trim it to 6 hours. Otherwise... there is no prejudidng or such other than by your peers. if we don't use all three tapes, the additional blanks will be mailed back to you
The contest is uncensored and possibly adult. AWA does not censor for content (unless ilegal)... so you will possibly be subjected to adult material. because of this we require everybody entering to fill out, print, and sign the following form http://www.awa-con.com/forms/amvpro.pdf .
this is not optional.... if you are under 18 there is a section for your legal gaurdian.
A couple of things...
if you are worried about your video not having title credits... send me two copies... i will use the creditless one for the judging tape... and show the credited one during the convnetion
If you submit digitally... please provide one second of black at the begining and end of your video... no more and no less (ok... two second would be ok... but keep it reasonable.. i will disqualify a video before i spend the time to trim them anymore)
if you use the FTP server ( http://contest.otakuvideo.com ) you still have to provide the signature form and the blank tapes and mailer... you can send the blank tapes and mailer seperatly from your video... so if you know your always short on dealdines... send it first... and then ftp your video when your done.
if you live out of country... or are unable to access a post office... contact me... i might be able to arange something
it has been requested to be able to enter pro... but never send tapes... sayign that the person is willing to forgo the right to vote... I am sorry but that is not acceptable... you need to at least pretend to want to vote... providing the mailer and the tapes shows a bit of comitment... if i spend alot of time on this contest... so should you
um... have fun? this is in my opionon the best contest that AWA runs... it is truely a way to be acknoldeged by your peers

HAHAHAHA. I'm having that weird feeling that MJ is going to submit his "Moneyshot" video.Quu wrote: The contest is uncensored and possibly adult.
