Yeah, I think I maybe a bit behind the times, but even Inquest Gamer (march edition)bashes pokemon now. Split from pokemon ASAP! Unless you're like me, who kept the old school Charizard cuz he just looks badass and not cute like the other several billion cards. I just collect dragons in general, no matter the game.
magic, in my opinon, has too many new mechanics. I am trying to bust and split from mtg, but not before building old school black, GOTTA LOVE IT'S TECH! I'll throw in Necropotence/Ivory Tower if I can get a few, but I think chances are, I'll just get two or three living deaths.(they're easier to obtain nowadays) My only problem is getting myself four hypnotic specters.
now finally, yu gi oh. i got a cookie cutter(stereotypical beatdown, no themes or tribes) i stopped collecting that with the end of the school year. it has like three cards from labyrinthe of nightmare, and NOTHING from Legacy, the new set. all i want to get there is a harpie's feather duster, an extra attack force, maybe kycoo's if they come conveniently.
PS- i am an adept in mtg strategies for the most part, apocalypse and before, i kno nothing after. feel free to share your two cents if you're an old timer mtg player.

Don't play the English game, it's a load of crap and a waste of money. The JPN cards only have 50 cards per set unlike the US which has like 140.
Only 4 rare and 3 Super and 3 Ultra rare in JPN sets... while the US has like 20 rare and 13 Super and 15 Ultra Rare....
Plus they only released Beatdown cards in English (Guess so kids can play it easily without having to think)
Basically, just avoid the ENG YGO game, anime, and manga like the plague since it's ruined and they tried to market a teen thing towards kids.

Obviously that *is* your opinion, but I think the new mechanics keep things fresh. Plus, 8th Edition pwns for old-school players.omniinuyasha85 wrote:magic, in my opinon, has too many new mechanics.

now i'm a mtg fan and been playing for 2 years now. the very old mechanics always gets me off gaurd beause i don't know how they work, like banding and i don't like that. now the 8th Edition cards, i don't like how they look but it has a lot of old cards i want. damn!
i have a shoe box full of pokemon crap i'm going to set a fire that has a full base set. i have been waiting to burn them a year now beause i'm too busy playing other games. if you tell me to sell them i've already tryed.
i've always liked yu-gi-oh and 40k but ever got into it beause i play many other non-pc games that i have to know the rules and 40k takes to mush money to play.
