Otakon 6/21 Prescreening: Who's coming?

Post by iserlohn » Thu Jun 19, 2003 12:05 pm

I think the title says it all. Do you plan on driving down (or up) to College Park? Bringing friends? Want to come but not leave your house at 6AM Saturday to get here? Let's discuss Saturday here.

I'll start off by saying that I'll be there, camera in hand, and that I hope to see a lot of AMV people there. This is your time to make a statement with your voting and attendence, so let's not have it be one of apathy.

Oh, and I'm heading over by campus today, so I'll be picking up some more takeout menus. Pizza is good, but so's Chinese and everything else in the area.

I'd go, but I really need to get cracking on my DDR3 video...

Plus, I hate College Park
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

I'll try to make it there. I'll see what type of weaponry I can find to use on obnoxious hecklers.

Then again, I should prolly work on my DDR3 track too...

I'd like to be able to, but the King of Prussia one is looking like the only one I'll be able to make it to... :(

I'll be there.

Is it the same room as last year?

No, it's not. Last year the screenings were in Plant Sciences, this year they're in the engineering building, rm. 1202 (lecture hall). Check the maps at http://www.umd.edu (should still say "engineering classrooms" or something as the building) and find lot G4. It's right off Rt. 1 on the right (and almost directly across the street from the cube).

Metro runs to the College Park/University of Maryland station. There's a shuttle between campus and the station, but on weekends it doesn't start until noon (if they have it running on weekends this summer, they didn't last year). I have no idea re: metrobus, unfortunately.

The easiest way to walk to campus is to go out the main exit (through the turnstyles and staight ahead) and follow Paint Branch Parkway up to campus. Cross Rt. 1 (or go under it on the bike path) and keep going straight to the Engineering building. The walk usually takes me 15-20 min. to do if it's not boiling hot or raining.

I'm going to KoP. Less driving, and Alan's couch has an ass-groove that's out of this world!
