Oh and when people vote... Shouldn't they be voting for each round after watching each of the videos? :?

Round - Total Votes

1 - 20
2 - 20
3 - 14
4 - 17
5 - 30
6 - 26
7 - 17
8 - 20

Very big discrepency between rounds 3 and 5...
(numbers were added at the time of this post)

Looks as though someone is playing the votes...?

Is it possible to pull an entry from the contest?
Like say.. Mine? :?

I have to agree with you. I wasn't going mention this but in round 5 The End is Near had a lead 10 - 5. But now it is Giving in 19 - 11. Does that seem a little strange.

I think so.. I would prefer a voting system that only accepts complete votes (for all videos). If you (WN) don't have the ability to make a web based version of this I would recommend voting by email. (Not that I'm invovled other than having voted..) (Indeed, voting by email might be preferable anyway, since it raised the barrier of entry a little, so asking everyone in some chatroom to "please vote for my video" is less likely to have any effect.) (Something to consider for the next round.)

i have noticed these descrepencies in voting as well. I f you would like your video withdrawn from the contest, you can do that, it is your video after all.

I thought about having the votes done by email, but if someone wanted to cheat tehy could easily do it that way as well with all the free email providers that exist, and then people would still be getting there friends to vote for there video(or whatever they are doing), and when they hve to vote for the other videos they would most liekely just choose videos at random.

The only way i could think of to make sure the voting was all legit, would be to hold the voting in my forum and to make voters register prior to the start of the contest so people can't see.."oh, i'm losing, i'll get some friends to come and vote for me".

I have noticed to some descrepencies in the voting from the very first day of voting, when all the rounds had a total of 5 votes, exept one round had 12 votes and all for one video.

If people are willing to vote in the forums, i propose that for the next round voting be moved to the forums, with a 4 or 5 day break before the next round to give people time to register to vote in the forum(by register, i mean i will have a specific thread called voter registration, and you leave yr name ..etc to register to votes). And you would have to vote for each round, except if you are a creator you can choose to abstain from voting in your own video match up. What are all your feelings on this??

Well it's a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it might turn away the people who are voting for their friends, but on the other hand, the amount of votes given isn't too high at the moment...

Mmmmm, I'm excited. Hopefully there will be more votes now that there are fewer videos (easier for us 56kers).
The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Downloading the AMV's

Post by OtakuForLife » Tue Jun 24, 2003 8:52 am

Why do only half of the contest downloads work? The download on the left-side always downloads correctly, while the one on the right-side
can not be downloaded at-all. What's the deal?
