Help! FFX FMV extractor?!?

Post by kungfu_girl » Wed Jul 02, 2003 4:48 am

have been trying to extract the FMV/CG Movies sequences from the PS2 game FFX but I've had some trouble.. I DID actually find a program ( http://www.alucard.cc/modules.php?name= ... rch&query= ) In order to see this link you'd have to register (its free) but this is the only program I've been able to find that can rip FFX FMVs.. however, it can only convert them to .m2v files and can't compress them. The files are also hard to open and don't play all the way or freeze in the middle of the clip. I also can't open them in Adobe Premiere (The whole reason I ripped them!) If anyone knows of a better way or a better program that can extract video files from Final Fantasy 10 then I would be VERY grateful!!

ps.The best program that I've used for ripping FF games is PSXMC v3.01 but it won't work for FFX!

PLEASE HELP!!

M2V files are MPEG-2, and Premiere doesn't support it (unless you have the 6.5 version). Try uncompressing your M2V files in AVI using DVD2AVI.

Thank you! That worked perfectly! I had tried just renaming the file from .m2v to .avi but now I see that wasn't the way to do it at all. By the way though.. if anybody finds a better FFX extractor, still reply!
