Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all run around in a darkened room, munching pills, and listening to repetitive music~Kristian Wilson, CEO, Nintendo Gaming Corporation

See this is why I don't do anything high profile, and keep a 150lb magnet handy at all times.
 Lets see 'em get the info off my HDDs then.

What a bunch of sorry mother fuckers. Ustabe you could rip your own CD's without worry of federal retribution. Now-a-days just owning a PC makes you a criminal. (For comments on the situation please refer to sig.)

This whole case makes me laugh. If this every becomes a problem, I think a mass boycott of music cds represented by the RIAA would be in order. I mean for a business that makes billions in sales, for cds that are for the most part crap now adays, they sure do bitch alot about losing money. :? . I myself buy cds all the time, but I dont buy a cd because of a commercial or a music video I watched on tv. No I buy cds after listening to downloaded songs and determining that the CD is worth my money. Hell thats how I determined to buy the new Blue Man Group cd, I even want to go watch their Vegas show too, and I determined all this after listening to something like 3 or 4 of their songs.

A lot of people fail to realize, though(Or atleast, I'm assumign this, since no one has said anythign so far), is that the RIAA is only suing people who share the music.
If you download the songs and then just take them out of your share folder, or just not share them, you're fine.
It's only the people that put up the music for others to download that would get caught.
(Which is kind of sad, since they're being generous by sharing, while I'm all "take, take, take").

As for AMVs...
They'll be legal sooner or later. practically everyone on this site makes a better trailer for a certain anime then the professionals do.
I can see it now.. One day, if you put "member of animemusicvideos.org" on your resume, you're automatically hired.
