I'm with EarthCurrent on this.

Escaflowne is quite a bit non-traditional and not really a romance...just one of the things in it (which I like). It's more of a general anime that happens to have a romance building inside of it.

The other two are more traditional romances.

There's Ayashi no Ceres you could check out. I'm still trying to figure out when Aya had sex w/ Touya.

Perhaps you need to rewatch it then because it's pretty damn obvious when it happens.

not as comedic romances:
kare kano
umm...ok, another brain freeze...moving on

Let's see...

<A HREF=http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,376, ... tml>Seikai no Monshou (Crest of the Stars)</A> and also the sequels: <A HREF=http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,368, ... tml>Seikai no Senki (Banner of the Stars)</A> Parts I and <A HREF=http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,369, ... html>II</A>. This series has no fanservice - it's true to itself. This series is also not really the big lovey-dovey kind, it's more...realistic in a sense. I mean, you're not gonna have a girl fall into your lap, cmon now.

<A HREF=http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,315, ... ml>Rurouni Kenshin -Reminiscence OAV-</A> is a very sad romantic title as well. Well, at the end anyways. Don't worry, it's only a movie/OAV, not a hundred-something episodes like the TV series.

<A HREF=http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,856, ... Chobits</A> is great, but has fan service all over the place. Wait until around episode 15 when they start to get more serious about a lot of things.

Saber Marionette J??? Hand Maid May??? Maybe loosely, but no way close.

I was crying because they totally changed the ending of Kenshin (from the Manga) to something that was the total opposite of what really happened. Then again, I could understand people finding it sad. Find solace in the fact that's not what really happened :-P. I do.

..Sorry, more to add. What I also like about Chobits is that it's not centered around just the realtionship between the two main characters. It involves even the smallest minor characters well. Everyone had or is going through a relationship that develops with the story.

Kiane...does that mean that you received my PM telling you about necroposting? Well all you can do is pray that you are forgiven. Even though it does take some will to apologize.
