Whispers of the Heart is a great movie. The romantic story plot is quite sweet, as one would expect from a Ghibli film. It was a different director (although Miyazaki did direct the "dream sequence") and one of my top favorite Ghibli films.angelx03 wrote:You could also try Whisper of the Heart. That has romance in it. Of course I'm basing this according to the music video I saw a while ago. It's the one that used the song "Thousand Miles".

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.

umm..I've got a couple ;_;
I've got a couple that I thought were sad,but dramatic and romantic (ah,sorry if those mean the same -.-).Saikano (Saishuu-Heiki Kanojo) was very dramatic...I almost cried at the end *sniffles* ;_;.Boys Be... was also a pretty good dramatic anime.Only I guess you could say it was kinda like Love Hina.It fell into the catagory of Drama/Comedy.Saikano was funny like,EVERY once in a while.So it wouldn't fall too much into the same catagory of Love Hina and Boys Be... but it is VERY much recommended I'd say ^.^.I loved it,but some people didn't =P.It's 13 episodes long by the way...very sentimental anime *pouts*

Peach Girl (keeps you full of angst and you fall in love with the characters.)
Ayashi no Ceres (even though it's a bit more of other things... still sweet.)
Ashiteru ze Baby (sweet anime about a playboy in school who turns into a responsible caring older brother and a wonderful boyfriend by the end of the series.)

Ai Yori Aoshi is great, as is Maison Ikokku and Urusei Yatsura (of course, though, it IS Rumiko Takahashi, so expect uber-hilarity.)
If you're looking for Mangas as well, then I've got two words for ya:
LOVE
HINA
It has as much hilarity as a Rumiko Takahashi comic, nearly (he doesn't draw the nipples) as much fanservice as Ai Yori Aoshi, and has some of the most touching scenes in all of the anime universe. The TV show is alright, but it doesn't compare to the comic at all. If you've ever had heartache, especially from confusing or unrequited love, then check it out. The thing that makes it so great is, despite the hilarity and over-the-top nature of a lot of the characters, its more realistic with the chracters' feelings and uncertainties than most other animes out there - everybody with a heart can relate to at least one of the characters, and you get that butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling when the characters do. You'll find yourself wanting to cry or hit the characters in the back of their heads for being so dense sometimes, even find yourself losing faith in who will end up with whom, but in the end it never disappoints to leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling in the end.
