Wtf??
Now who's assuming what?

Regardless of whether this thread was intended to be serious or not,
all my previous posts were just my twisted-triple-inverse-sorta-humor-crap. I have nothing against you, I wasn't trying to really offend you or anything.
Until your last post I thought that's what you were doing too =\
That's what I thought had happened, now I am confused as to who's insulted and who doesn't care.

Wow. This is a great example of randomness gone wild. I would say the early posts qualify as bickering, rather than arguing *or* discussion. As for the question, I'd be happy to give my ideas on the subject.

A few levels to discuss (meaning talk about):

Debate: To take a side and give points to support that side in a rational manner while the opponent takes the other side and replies to those points before countering them with points of his own. This is the 'higher' form of arguing. This is what goes on when you have intelligent people talking about (discussing) a serious or important subject.

Arguing: To take a side and give lots of reasons why that side is 'right.' To ignore the other side's points and just keep pressing your own. In an argument, the opponent will do the same by throwing out his reasons that *he* is right, without accepting the other person's points. In this case, there can be no decision on the matter because neither side is willing to concede where the other person may be right.

As for this forum, when someone enters an ongoing argument and counters the other person's points before giving his own points, it moves from argument into debate. But usually the first person will just say, no 'this, this and this means I'm right' - so it rarely goes beyond argument.

Discussion just means to find a subject and talk about it. It doesn't imply any sort of disagreement, just that a subject is being explored through talk (or in this case, type).

That's how I see it. ^_^

I should qualify 'bickering.' An example of what I see as bickering would be two children on a playground calling each other names. They aren't discussing anything, and they aren't arguing because neither is giving any real points. They just want to fight with words, and probably have nothing better to do. An argument, or even a simple discussion can resort to bickering when people run out of points to contribute. Then they call names. This happens in debates as well, just think of political slandering around election time. ^_^

Why? You said put the thread here instead of in the WOT because it wasn't just for random dumbness. I just addressed your first post, is all. :?
