Amazingly, I agree with Toecutter on part of his post, the "stop whining and do something about your problems" part. *thumbsup*
I also don't think happiness is about listing all the material goods you have. That's pretty sad in my worldview, though I know it makes a lot of people happy. Though then, I was brought up with a weird attitude toward materialism, so.
Damn straight. Which is why I don't take any of this seriously; I bet most of the self-pitying "omg life sux0rz" people will get over themselves eventually. Though nobody realizes that in the moment; they literally, seriously think their lives are sheer screaming living hell because they can't go to the mall or something. It's something everybody goes through, and then you realize what a prick you were and get on with life. 8)nailz1000 wrote:I used to be unhappy, then I grew out of that phase.

Sarah has stated a real truth. When materialistic possesions are your source of happiness or sadness, then your world can easily be destroyed, and it will be, as you will most definitely grow bored with what you own or don't own in time, thusly you will have to search for new mediums of happiness, for $9.95 plus tax.

been there, done that for 16 years u nub....Toecutter wrote:That's ridiculous! There's no reason for you to be moping around like Shinji because you can't get laid, have no job, and stick to your computer all day. Get the hell out of your house, find a job, enjoy the outdoors, and start hitting on chicks, you pathetic, cowering bastard!hmmm, lets see....i sit on my computer from 10-10 everyday waiting for some girl that lives in the area that i do to im me and says shes in love with me, while i play counter-strike and kill people for absolutely no reason.....i also have no job....and i write all my feelings on a online journal ( http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=LightningCountX ) so i am king.....
These are all things you can easily take care of yourself. Even with all the bullshit I'm going through, I still managed to find a crappy minimum wage job, keep my car running, and find a way to not consider myself a loser. I go out and play laser tag at a local arena every other weekend. I meet some interesting folks, sharpen my hand-eye coordination, and help treat my itchy trigger finger.
The difference between you and I, is the fact you don't even try to do anything with your life, and I do. My problems are the result of my fucking family and those whiny bitches I thought were my friends trying to control me. However, I'm saving up some money, and once I have a steady full-time job, I'm out of the house until I move into a dorm for college again. Once I'm at college, I'm never setting foot anywhere near a church, and I'm sure as hell staying the fuck away from any depressed, bisexual, converted Christian girls who want to try and "fix" me.
The thing is, there's nothing wrong with me, except that I trust people way too easily. So, I adapt and overcome, and keep my guard up.
