I use a simple Wallpaper changing thingy that automaticly changes pics every 2 mins (or at whatever time you want to set it to).

It runs rock-solid stable and consumes allmost no resources on WinXP as far as I've been using it. Of course, I don't recomend setting it to changing every 2 seconds or anywhere less than 1 mintue since it will lag your comp.
