Eh, California is a kook state. Who knows, having someone who ISN'T a politician might be just what they need right now.

The Lieutenant Governor is the real threat to California. If he wants, he could easily deny the gubernatorial election, take over, and turn the state into his own personal fascist regime.

Arnold has some good political ideas, with just enough of the wussy liberal side to make the moderates happy. He should be able to pull it off.

Do you think he'd try to repeal the draconian firearms laws? I mean, I've heard he has a lot of toys...

In Arkansas, which has a Republican governor, the projected deficit for 2004 is "only" 896 million dollars, but to put that in perspective that is about 38 percent of the state's entire budget. By comparison, California's projected 18 - 26 billion dollar deficit is between 23 - 33 percent of its budget.

Two other large states, both with Republican governors, New York and Texas, are also projected to have multi-billion dollar deficits anywhere from 10 - 25 percent of their state budgets.

Eleven states where there are Republican governors are projected to have deficits less than 10 percent of their budget, with eight for Democrats -- including WY which is not projected to have any deficit at all.

Just a bunch of sore losers who saw their chance -- I think this will just solidify CA as a blue state.
