What got you started?

I'm not asking what the first anime you watched is. i jstu want to know what got you hooked on anime ... yes hooked. if you reading this, and posting on this forum it's reasonable to say yoru hooked.

For me, i got restarted after a good long break by watching some FLCL amv's. More specificaly it was this amv that got me started. Then i looked for others and wound up with a bunh of Flying cracker amv's (my iron lung, the perfect drug) and AD's imortalized Deep purple FLCL amv ... all of them were FLCL ...

if i were to try to pin it on one indavidual scene or image, then that scene where haruko's stradeling Naota in the MSI amv ... that would be it ... lol thats what hooked me ... a 19? year old stradeling a 12 year old ... wow isn't that nice lol.

thats why it's nice to know ppl in real life ... on teh org ... but then again i can act like an ass/otaku and no one who knows me would even know ... so i guess being alone has it's benifits ...

I saw GundamWing on CN the episode I saw was pretty cool so I watched a little more. I didn't get hooked until MAS PRODUCTIONS lended me his Eva series. That is what got me hooked.

what got me started was an AMV proto-type by a girl calling herself merrow ( mermaid studio's )
. she made a really fuzzy looking AMV and didn't know how to crop the top and bottom - which would have made it look like the 14 X 9 as the Movie was `from the start.
. after listening to her, I found that she liked the theme to Haunted Junction and mixxed the Full Opening to her Video without editing a thing - T_T it matched! T_T

I worked with the Sound part of AMV's for a while, but never tryed the Video area - thus here I am today . . . making mistakes like everyone else ^^;;;

The scene that got me hooked on anime is the scene in Sailor Moon Classic where they killed Queen Beryl. Even in the dub, its so powerful and moving. And, the song fit it so well. After that, there was no stopping me. I became a mad, raving otaku lunatic.

I tell you it was when I was about 5 to 6 years old and this anime used to come on and it was huge robots fighing, a Green Red and Blue one, can't remember the name and it came on about 5am to 6am, most of you would be to young to know what I am talking about, but the rumbles they had got me hooked as Mechs were my first love of anime [/quote]

I hardly beagn with DBZ, it was a stage. I have Voltron as my first Anime love; then came, Akira. After several years of anime hyedas I discovered DBZ. The rest.... well.....
