Neko's gonna be so happy she got so many hits in a day. Unless someone points out this thread >_>

Since she (I'm guessing she) has made like 9 FB vids, I'm guessing she either doesn't have a DVD-rom, and/or too cheap to get the FB Dvds. And she's probably never read the guides. There's alot of ppl that do the same thing though, and if I were phade. I'd probably have some min. standards for uploading... I have no problem with ppl making videos for fun with the cheapest sources, and minimal effort (she has like 5 videos released on the same day)

The thing is, if I use the hollywood comparison. We have videos ranging from blockbuster to indie/art house. Then we have someone's home video they made one day, and they all play in the same theater @_@

Just to note, released doesn't mean produced. ^_^;; I took that date to mean the first time the videos were put up for general viewing, not the day they were completed. You can hold a video for years, make others and hold them, and then release them on the same day - that doesn't mean you didn't put any effort into them, just that you uploaded them on the same day. But a limit to the number of vids a person can upload per period of time may certainly be in order.

No.

The point of the .org is to catalog every AMV ever made, regardless of quality or whatever. You do that, and you'd be going against the mission of the site.

People say "don't use downloaded footage" and so forth, but that's never been an official site rule.

No downloaded footage is one of the ten commandments in the forum rules... :?

Personally, I think the 'no downloaded footage rule' is baloney, technical-wise. Sure, it's not very ethical to use downloaded footage, but to be honest - I've seen digi-sub AMV's that far exceeded the quality of DVD-rip AMV's, both in terms of encoding quality and artistic content.

AMV's are AMV's. Let people do what they want with them. Better to have all possibilities cataloged publically than restrict the community to an elitist group of 'good' creators. So, I'd put the blame on the creators and leave it at that.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Phade wrote:Hey All,

Here is the collection of site forum rules. This list will be modified as rules are added and/or changed.

The AnimeMusicVideos.org Code of Ethics:

Thou shalt be courteous at all times including visiting conventions, forum posts, opinions given, and opinions received. Respect other's judgment though you may disagree with it.

Thou shalt not use downloaded video footage to make AMVs.

Thou shalt not use downloaded music to make AMVs.

Sorry to be persistent, but if I'm taking the second rule too seriously, maybe it should be ammended - 'Thou shalt not use downloaded video footage to make AMVs unless you want to' - or something similar. Otherwise it's misleading. :?
