dont get me wrong, dude. Its good when people give a !@$.

Its Bad when people say they give a @!$#% but dont give a $@%@ enough to do the work it takes to be informed and thought thru.

that doesnt mean you should speak up. It means you should get more info, decide if its still something you want to say, then speak up.

But one thing does remain: Humans ARE human and greed is part of that. We see money we want money, just a matter of self control. But in an impoverished land it obviously very hard to decide on the matter. Kill and be paid or not kill and not being able to eat for the next few days.(if the situation is that dire)

Yeah, part of the briefings we get before we go over there is that, "These people get paid by the head. You do not. They have a reason to kill you indiscriminately, and nothing to lose, but you must exercise LOAC at all times." I did not join for G.W.Bush, I did not join for WTC, I did not join for Afghanistan or Iraq, in fact I joined back in the Clinton Administration, when the military was still being downsized. I may not agree with all this, but I swore to uphold the constitution, and obey the officers appointed above me as part of the Enlisted Oath, and damnit, if I don't have my Honor enough to uphold one oath, what do I have?

And Otohiko, we dont get paid very much at all. After taxes, it's only a bit above McDonalds, but you get room and board.

Oh BTW Danny, sorry if I sounded offensive - I stretched it, I agree.

I gotta say that the last people I blame, before civvies that is, are the soldiers and support crew. I got acquaintances in the US airforce whom I respect and talk to gladly. I know you're following an oath, and quite a few of your likes - not for the wrong reasons at all.

Soldiers are soldiers, they're out there to fight, and, unlike most politicians and rabid pro-war civilian voters, they are the ones paying the price. It's mostly an even proposition for them.

So, just clarifying - I'm not a soldier-hater, in fact the opposite. And I know good and well how you guys live, and respect that.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Then what was that snipe about Earlier? "Quite content to watch american soldiers die. Quite content."

We are following orders. This is not my or my comrades war. It is a political war. Plain and simple. Remember me and my buddies next time. We didn't choose to do this war, but we chose this life.

Internet discussions are always like WW1 trenches.

1. Dig yourself a trench using your opinions as shovel.
2. If possible, join with like minded individuals.
3. Shoot your opponents opinions to no-mans land, even if they make sense.
4. Never change your opinions, not by an inch for that means your opponent is (at some level) right.
5. Nothing changes expect resentment towards other forum users.
6. World keeps on turning

It's futile but still we keep doing it. You could say we are all f***ing stupid.

yes I think the new is biased... not just american news either.

My question to you is does your news station correct itself when it's wrong?

Only one station I know regularly has a segment where they correct themselves even if they are only slightly wrong. All the others will only give a retraction if they are sued or something similar.

So long as you include the British, Australian, and other troops, too  .

I wish I was in the military. Room and board and benefits and a paycheck all sound pretty good, and killing some people doesn't sound that bad, either. They don't want to die, they stay out of the path of my bullets.

What's stopping you? Just walk to nearest recruitment office. Just remember that bullets fly both ways and don't say we didn't warn you....
