Azumanga Daioh To Be Dubbed

Post by RedFusionX » Wed Aug 20, 2003 9:52 pm

Well, what are your opinions?

I don't know if I will like the dub, though I am not a person to prefer subs. It is kind of like Read Or Die, I like the american ver. but the voice actress just cannot convey the ecstacy that was in Yomiko's voice when talking about books.

I would like to hear what you think of this series being dubbed, and if they will try to over-act the characters.

If it means it will be brought over here so I can buy the DVD's then I'm all for it.

Do you know who's doing the dubs? There are a couple of rather good companies out there.

Hey,

I have yet to see this anime (though I've heard a lot of good things about it), and since I tend to watch anime dubbed, I think I'd be glad to get it when it comes out. Btw anyone know whos doing the dub?

This is the one show which has ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE of being even remotely as good as the original. First you have all the cultural references, the jokes about Yukari-sensei's English skills not to mention her incredible range of vocal intonations, Osaka's...well, she likes to think "outside of the box". And the fact that everyone is in high school - ADV does not have anyone that even sounds remotely like a kid, they will all sound 10 years too old.

And you can bet this will be done in-house.

Hillary Haag and Jessica Callvelo maybe but they simply don't sound right.

I'm interested to hear it, but don't expect anything exceptional or mediocre.

I heard a rumour that Amanda Winn Lee wants to do Yomi's voice. That will not do. I may get them for AMV purposes, and will watch them in original Japanese.

ADV has not released any info on the company to do the dubbing, and they do not have a release date either.

i second warps opinion. i don't care who dose the dub, or how bad, as long as it comes to North America, and i can buy the DVD's with the original japanese audio tracks i'll be more then happy with that.

Wendy lee is a whore she needs to die. Die bitch die ok got her out of my system. She's the one responsible for the horrid love hina dub. I could not stand a dub of Azumanga Daioh. Not that I am anti dub.

Not Wendee Lee

Amanda Winn Lee, she die Rei/Yui, and she did Nancy (Miss Deep) in R.O.D.
