Sadly enough, more than half of the thread *was* spam, or people chatting as they waited for confirmation on questions. I can't really argue with the mods about the spam being bad - considering the space it took up, there wasn't *that* much anime discussion going on in those pages. ~_~

But we have some interesting questions here about a wide range of anime - it's educational to preserve this thread. ^_~

I'm actually noy going to post the answer to it (if anyone really wants to know, PM me) because in thinking about it after posting it, it's something of a rather large spoiler, and I want to encourage people to watch the series, not give major plot points away :p

And soooooo...... as the inaugural question for the reborn Anime Trivia thread, something a bit different.

Who is this young woman cosplaying as, and what series is the character from? (sorry about the dark image, but I dropped the quality to get it to load faster)

Dear God, my eyes! Anyhow, judging by the presence of pokute, it's someone from Jungle wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu, and IIRC (which is quite unlikely, in all honestly), I believe it's Hale's mother's best friend (name escapes me), who was secretly raised by (and is still guarded by) that mysterious and ever-so-useful jungle animal, the pokute. I don't think that it could actually be Hale's mother, although the two are quite similar, because of the pokute, but if that is so, then that is a kind of 'secondary' guess ^_~

Heh. You're obviously quite right on the series. But no, it's not Rebecca (the young woman raised by and now secretly guarded and tended to by Pokute)...

Props on remembering about Rebecca's past though- and for your description of the Pokute.

And my secondary guess? Hale's mother? I'm afraid it's been a while since I saw the series and most of the names have slipped away, washed under the grinding effect of hours and weeks and choc-ices.

Yup, that's Weda- the blue hair (though it may be hard to tell from the picture) and the distinct pattern of the outfit gives it away. Plus, she is the second-best hunter in the village, which was the explanation of why she has all the pokute. I was hoping you would come up with her actual name Savia (and I was trying to find a good image of her... but failed completely, and I can't create one here at work), but you are quite right. Your question.
