Otaku no Video was only available subtitled (again from Animeigo), so is Card Captor Sakura TV I believe. I'm soooooooooooo going to wonder how they will dub the Engrish part and also all the december=teacher running/walking gag -_-; Those vid notes would be nice, but you wouldn't be able to use it as much as Excel saga since Excel saga featured a lot of on screen things that can be vidnoted.

You can just change the language and watch it however you want. So ADV's releasing it eh? I was wondering who had rights to it.

Like I said:

From my perspective, the average dub watcher is more likely to pick up something like DBZ or Gundam over a no-action, low ecchi comedy like Azumanga. Thus, taking the extra time and money to produce a (likely) poor dub would be a waste. The most likely buyers are those who've seen the fansubs, established anime fans, and otaku - most of whom will view it without the dub.

I fail to see how anyone can support wasting the time (delaying the series release) and money (increasing the investment in the series and making ADV less likely to bring future series like Azu over in the future if sales aren't "good") to do a lackluster dub job, unless, like some people *cough cough* they can't read  .
I'm out...

Bah! Foolish mortals! Azumanga Daioh cannot be ruined by a mere crappy dub!

It's a crime
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Blah, blah, blah... I will reserve judgment until I actually SEE it, because anything else is fanboyish and irritating.

Besides, you can always watch the damn subs on the DVD, so please, what is the point in whining about this? I'll just be glad that I can finally buy the series.

I don't know what it means in English

People interested in this series should check out this site

It has a lot of information on this series, it's the site that made me want to see it
"I've spent the last ten years of my life defending my country, I've sacrificed for it, fought for it, and bled for it, now it's time I got something back, so please just respect me and my fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as we continue to do this job."

As far as I know:

It doesn't mean anything in English; it barely means anything in Japanese. It's a combination of the [magazine; insert s00perk00l fanboy Japanese term here] that the comic strip ran in plus the author's name.

I'm with Sarah on this one...

You know what has an even better chance of happening? If ADV ad-libs it to the point of wtf? And it turns out to be a FANTASTIC dub...

The more you people complain, the more ADV has a slight chance of slapping around and making you all worship the dub...

Once again, I stand by the fact that without dubs, anime will NOT prosper in America. EVAR... NOT EVEN A LITTLE...

:p

Some examples of fantasticular dubs... Virtua Fighter, Elf Princess Rane (you've GOT to give props to people who can speak THAT FAST) and Excel Saga. (damn shame that Jessica Calvello seems to have gone "turncoat")
"Strength lies in action. Let the weak react to me..." - Kamahl, Pit Fighter from Magic: the Gathering
"That is a mistake many of my enemies make. They think before they act. I act before I think!" - Vortigern from Merlin ('98)
"I AM REBORN!" - Dark Schneider Bastard!! OAV
