I freakin' love that song. By far, my favorite of theirs. Good pick.AtomX wrote:<a href="http://www.bemanitx.com/mp3s/Dismemberm ... memberment Plan - The Other Side</a>

Here's another guy's band that people probably don't know -
Trey Gunn and his band
Trey is a virtuostic Warr Guitar player. For those of you who don't know what a Warr Guitar is (and I doubt a lot of you do) - it's a 9- to 13-string touch instrument with the range of a piano. It can both be strummed or played exclusively touch style, often using both hands. While mostly known as a bassist, Trey pulls killer high-end solos on it as well.
Very unique sound - influences including funk, Latin, Arabic, and experimental rock...
MP3's off his website
http://treygunn.com/media/Brief%20Encounter(live).mp3 Brief Encounter (live) (4 min)
http://treygunn.com/media/The%20Glove(% ... cerpt).mp3 The Glove (live excerpt) (1.5 min)
The Joy of Molybdenium (5.5 min)
Sozzle (5 min)
Killing for London (7 min)
Hard Winds (3 min)
The Shimmering (2.5 minutes)
****
Oh yes, and if the description doesn't convince you to check out Trey's stuff - he's also the guy in my avatar and the infamous BAM! picture
While his stellar solo work is largely unknown, his (very different) work as the present King Crimson's Warrbeast is well-respected.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Thank you madam! Excellent stuff.Big Big Truck wrote:I RISE LIKE A ZOMBIE FROM THE GRAVE to post mp3s.
There are a lot of really great musical acts that have gone unnoticed or unheard by most AMV editors I've talked to. I thought I would share some songs by artists who don't have much (or ANY) entries in the .org database.
This is going to be a pretty wide variety of stuff, age, feel, and genre-wise, though I'll try to restrict it to somewhat AMV-able songs. (i.e. not "Maralinga" or "Family Snapshot" )
Here goes nothing...
First round: these three have kind of a similar feel. I'm surprised no one's done "Super Bon Bon" yet.
- Folk Implosion, "Insinuation (Dust Brothers Remix)"
Official band homepage
- Firewater, "Anything At All"
Official band homepage
- Soul Coughing, "Super Bon Bon"
Unofficial band homepage
These will go down when I put some new ones up next week.
Notables for AMV stuff
Anything At All - very AMVable! Because, I can think of applying it to, well - almost Anything At All. Angels, hell - what anime doesn't have that/something that can be passed off as that?
Super Bon Bon - difficult to choose the right material, something definitely for an expert editor. If done right, this would make a riot AMV!
***
In closing - I've always wanted a thread like this. In fact, I wish this one or a similar thread became sticky, to be a "free downloadable music guide for AMV-makers looking for something different". Awesome.
Post more people, I listen to all. Just try for direct links, as they are much easier for the lazy ones among us to work with.

Thanks for introducing me to some quality music AtomX
Most of what you listed is actually quite AMVable too.

I wish I could. But angelfire doesn't allow direct linking.Otohiko wrote:Post more people, I listen to all. Just try for direct links, as they are much easier for the lazy ones among us to work with.
::hands out double-shot espressos to the lazy ones...after drinking 2 of them::

I'd really like to see an AMV to any of Cruiserweight's songs. They're an AWESOME awesome band out of Austin.
The first 3 of my links are down at the moment due to hosting woes ;_; I dunno whats up. But the Cruiserweight and TSPO mp3s work.
I will post more stuff later.
