At least no one paid over $100 for it yet. Like my local Software Etc. tried to with the Perfect Collection. Tell me $160 for it is not too much. Now, it's going for just over $100 at Best Buy in Omaha. Too bad I live about 100 miles away from it...
February??? i've had it for nearly a year, it was a special promotion from gainax through right stuf.com exclusively.

I usually say 2 - 4 weeks. It really depends on the interest. If a topic is three or four pages back that in itself means the person necroposting had to make an effort just to find the topic.

Actually Gainax had nothing to do with it. I believe Paul Champagne did the work for the Tin boxes and Right Stuf distributed it. It was just a cool little thing that they paid Paul for and probably made a good amount of money (I believe the tins were 50 or so dollars).

He does those cool little tins all the time.

That is unless you're referring to the Evangelion Renewal which is a tin, but there was more than 2,000 produced.

Well unless you imported a Japanese Region 2 DVD and your player can play Region 2, I highly doubt it's Renewal. In fact 90 bucks is WAY too cheap for that.

IIRC it was closer to 400 bucks.

I'm 99% sure you have the Paul Champagne Tin since that's the only Tin boxset I know of that came to the states.

ErMaC had a review for it on this site, but it looks like he took down his pictures of the tin:

I'm guessing you have this one:

It's the only one that Right Stuf exclusively had.

yeah i got that one the paul tin, but on it's initial run only 2000 were made this is a fact.
Either way you still have to admit it is still pretty sweet looking, especially considering that cardboard piece of crap they came out over here with the perfect collection set.

Well I never said it wasn't cool :-P

I was debating buying it as well, but opted to just wait it out and it looks like I made a good move since the Renewal will be coming out sooner or later.

So renewal is actually the dvd enhanced quality version of Eva right?
like the stuff they mentioned in Newtype?

A lot more than enhanced. It's like watching a new show

Look at the pictures in Ermac's review and you'll see the difference.

Oh it also has all the deleted scenes from Episodes 20 - 26 (which are pretty cool).

So it has a lot of the directors cut stuff in it?(and in new enhanced quality none the less)
