I think the series is one of the best i've read so far. i'm a fan of super long series where each book is 500+ pages. I'm also a fan of long rpg games. so all WOT really fits into my caterorgory of taste.

Some general spoilers: (Hightlight to read)

neway, twilight was pretty nice from my perspective. the ghost town, the spoiling food, the continous Chosen in the AEs Sedai camp, everything fit into the general feel and flow of the story.

neway, i recommend the series, like i recomend Ender's and Bean's saga's.

tenth book was EVIL. absolute garbage, waste of money. crappiest book in the series. one of the worst i ever read. others were good though.

I have the wheel of time on my bookcase but i never noticed it untill now. I did like the glossary in the back when I picked it up and that whats gotten me to start reading it.

Indeed, I'd have to say this does a very good job with character development and interaction. George makes you hate some characters at the beginning and sympothize with them later. He makes you sad when people die (unlike WOT where theres so many side characters you can't remember whos who).

Very, very good IMO, I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series.

You know who else is an AWESOME fantasy writer? Melanie Rawn...her characters are AMAZING! I love her, she's currently my favourite author...

She wrote the Dragon Prince and Dragon Star series (integral to each other) those are the best ones to read if you're a guy to get into her writing because The Exiles triology comes off as VERY feministic (but it's really cool, though if you're a guy and you read that first you may get scared off, but don't worry not all her books are like that

)..that's it's funny and you realize how society works when it comes to double standards and shifting power...either way they are ALL very cool and worth your while in my opinion...their's lots of battles...VERY original ideas etc etc...

I can't wait till I get the Golden Key and the Diviner and the last book of Exiles...sniffle...i must wait till they're published...

RJ's issue is that, over 10 books, ~1 major character dies (Moiraine), and even that's very questionable. Martin kills a fair few, and manages to do it in such a way that you still care.

Oh, and 'A Feast for Crows' is due out in February in the US

And Koji- there's actually sites that investigate the grammar and what have you of Old Tongue. It sounds a little like Russian:

The modified dovie'andi means 'dice' here as opposed to luck (hence, 'cubes of luck' or thereabouts), for a translation of 'It's time to roll the dice'. se and sene appear to be particles of some description.
