Evangelion help...

Post by Onerois » Sun Sep 07, 2003 6:18 pm

Hello, I am new here. I really like anime music videos and I've wanted to make one or two Evangelion ones, the only thing is that I can't find a place to download the series (including director's cut) and the movies. Could someone please either send me the files or direct me to a site where I can download them? I have everything on dvd already but I can't rip them.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Why can't you rip them? Get SmartRipper (there's a link from Ermac and AbsoluteDestiny's Guide to All Things Audio and Video in the Guides section) and it should work fine.

If you have everything on dvd already, you don't want to rely on downloaded video. What I might suggest is to go here. This guide is loaded with information on how to rip your dvds so that you can use them in your video. They call this guide EADFAG. Generally on this board, when people refer you to reading this guide, they say Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides. This is not an insult, nor a slur at homosexuality. It is an acronym.

I am sure this guide will be helpful to you, unless you don't actually own the dvds and are just looking to score some free Eva. But we all know that isn't what you are doing at all.

My guess is that the guy/gal doesn't have a DVD-ROM, hence the not-being-able-to-rip-the-DVDs situation. My suggestion: Save up $60 and buy one.

Thank you all for your help. I will try that guide to dvd ripping (last time I tried it myself it didn't work). The only things I feel that I would have to search the net for are the director's cut episodes.

While I was looking through the net...how come anime fans seem concerned about wheter an anime is licensed or not except for Dragonball, Dragonball Z, or Dragonball GT? I mean it's horribly annoying going to sites that claim to have a certain anime but it's taken down due to it being licensed and then seeing on that same site seeing tons of Dragonball stuff.

Liscensed means it's out of the grey area that fansubs reside in, and is now TOTALLY illegal, rather than being Quasi-evil, the magerine of evil, the Diet Coke of evil. Just one calorie. Not evil enough.

Although you have asked a somewhat valid question, please refrain from asking for downloaded footage, its against forum rules and can get you banned. BTW this is refering to your previous post about where to find footage, not the one I quoted.

As far as DB related stuff, what they are doing even more illegal than un licensed footage *looks at Danny's post above* but it seems that no one really gives a shit about DB stuff, besides if your using it for footage it only hurts you since the quality on downloaded footage of that kind is almost always in poor quality.
