Note that I do have those 'on the other hand' notes.

It's just a standpoint. I can't say the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions Oh My Goddess is some episode of an american live action show, or anything else that isn't the particular anime.

However, to an everyday American, that may be different.

Again, not the on the other hand notes. I'm not the kind of person to offer any 'objective views'. Perception is subjective, and that's what I've always said.

No, but I mean really, I'm curious if there's anyone here who DOESN'T immideately associate the above phrase with the anime?

You do know that people say "Oh my God!" in English all the time, right? You've probably seen enough dubbed hentai to know that.
PS I don't watch Hentai, let alone dubbed

Is there a Japanese dub of this planned?

From what I read of that synopsis, the plot of the two-parter isn't remotely similar to OMG anyway. Only the title sounds even remotely similar, and that's a more of a really weak pun than a title rip-off, when you get right down to it. The part about three goddesses based off of greek goddesses MIGHT be inspired by OMG, but the trio in the synopsis bear no resemblance to OMG from the description, so it's a minimal resemblance. Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld are derived from the three fates, representing past (Urd), present (Belldandy), and future (Skuld), who weave, measure, and cut the threads of mortal life. The three goddesses in that episode synopsis are more strongly compared to Aphrodite (goddess of beauty and love), Demeter (goddess of nature), and Artemis (goddess of wisdom and the hunt). If they're ripping off anyone, really, they're ripping off the ancient greeks.

And their copyrights have long since expired, so the greek gods and goddesses have been public domain for some time now.

No, don't worry, I read the synopsis and that didn't cause me worry. It's all in the title, nothing else... I'm darn well aware of the plot differences (AMG is still among my favorite titles)

Wait, weren't the three fates Clothos, Lachesis, and Atropos, or were you just saying that Urd, Belldandy, and Skuld are based off of em? I for one never saw those three goddesses screwing around with cloth and scissors even once during the series....
