Well, I can get angry about my own decisions too, that's true. But, rather then pining over them, I just accept the fact that it's my fault, or the circumstances, and say 'shoganai', one of many great Japanese expressions helpful in daily life, and move on. Since usually it all ends up being fairly insignificant in the larger scheme of things anyway.

It's also a love for life. To connect back to my previous comment, and the topic itself, King Crimson deals with very similar issues from a more mature perspective. Their latest album, especially, resonates and fits into the descriptive paragraph Robert Fripp said about it and what it means for him:

In a strange and rapidly changing world, where reliable points of orientation shift position and small certainties of daily life appear to be threatened, there are times when reasonable people might despair. But hope is unreasonable, and love is greater than this.

I guess that's my point. I guess being in some tough circumstances myself, I developed a love for life rather than a despising for it...

So, rock on.

More songs PLZ, I do actually read those lyrics.

Well, if you want more lyrics, you got em. First, another Cracker song.

St. Cajetan

You know I don't feel well
I've got a thirst in my mouth
And all I want is a cool drink of water.
You know I don't feel well
I got salt in my wounds
And all I want is a cool drink of water.

Can you hear me, St. Cajetan?
I once knew a well so sweet
I put my lift, my lips to the pail to drink.
But I'd give it all up for a salt water

You know I don't feel well
Got the salty taste of my tears
And all I want is some relief from this.

You know I don't feel well
Been tossed and turned on this ocean.
And all I want is this one wish.

Can you hear me, St. Cajetan?
All I want is a cool drink of water.
Can you hear me, St. Cajetan?
All I want is a cool drink of water.
Can you hear me, St. Cajetan?
All I want is a cool drink of water.

Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me, St. Cajetan?

I would also say "Blue", off of the Bebop soundtrack, but we all know the lyrics to that one I would imagine. Anyway, next one is KMFDM.

Revolution
In fear of my life,
I went suddenly crazy.
Surrounded by beasts.
In a world of Disease.
I'm in fear I'm in anger.
I'm in a desperate state.
I will be careful now,
and I will make no mistake.

What's gonna happen?
I need to know.
I don't want you to suffer.
Is it yes or is it no?

If there's a hard way,
it's gonna be mine,
but I learned my lesson
and i’m gonna be fine.

It's the end of this world.
Something's gone wrong.
Give me one last kiss.
Revolution has begun.

It's the end of this world.
Something's gone wrong.
Give me one last kiss.
Revolution has begun.
It's the end of this world.
Something must end.
Time is right for a change.
It is all in our hands.

What's gonna happen?
Nobody knows.

Okay, Jim's Big Ego is up.

Desperate Times

Let me tell you something.
All the kids I know say theres no one
who will deal with the problems that are closing in around them
they turn on the radio, it's some regurgitated pop
or some thirty year old love song that was written for their parents
don't come singing bout her hair by the window
or her eyes in the moonlight or her kisses in the morning
I don't need another song about the ocean of your love for a sweater
that you gave to your boyfriend

These
these are desperate times
pay attention look up and read the signs
believe
these are desperate times.

All the big boys say that all the best music
was written 20 years ago in their generation
well, we've had another 20 years of devistation on the planet
made real by a nation being lulled into submission
Shut Up
I don't care about the dress that she wore
when she walked through the forest on a cool summer evening
I've had it up to here with all these feel good ditties
about how life would be much better if we ignored all the problems

These
these are desperate times
pay attention look up and read the signs
believe
these are desperate times.

All around the world the guns are being cocked
and they're pointed at the others caught staring at our table
well sing up Americans cause the time may be running out
before the picture gets flipped and we're all looking down the barrel

These
these are desperate times
pay attention look up and read the signs
believe
these are desperate times

Okay, that's about enough for now. Enjoy.

Awesome. Quite politicized, but awesome. Interesting, is a resurgence of political topics in music in the last almost-decade something that's actually happening or was I just not listening carefully enough before?

Well, there is a lot of half assed canned political stuff that most wannabee punk bands have been throwing around recently, along with some truly political bands like KMFDM or RATM (KMFDM being the far better of the two mind you), as well as others. Basically, the political stuff has stayed in the genres its always been in, and at different levels of actually meaning anything. That's about all I can say in brief on the subject.

I must say one thing:

I need to hear KMFDM.

I haven't heard their work before, but the stuff I've been reading from members since I joined here is further enticing me. I like RATM to some extent, and Morello's guitar style I do find pretty interesting. But, I'm still completely ignorant to what KMFDM has to offer. So, I guess it may be a good idea to check it out ASAP...

BTW, Kthulhu, are you of the school of thought that KMFDM stands for "Kein Mitlied Fur Die Mehrheit", or "Keiner Macht Fur Dich Mehr"? I go with the second one myself, but I'm just curious.
