Greatest musician of the mid-to-late 20th Century dies

Post by Tom the Fish » Fri Sep 12, 2003 7:41 am

I usually don't have respect for musicians and entertainers who don't write their own material, but the Man in Black always took a song and made it his own.

I hope he finds his peace in the valley. RIP Johnny Cash 1932-2003

Link is too his Hurt video. http://www.markromanek.com/video/14.html

Today is indeed a sad, sad, day. As a general rule I never think much of the talents of what would be considered "Country Music" singers. But the man in black was a true talent.

well good country music seems to relate to almost everything (well mostly just rnb and classic) like Shania Twain and Dolly Parton so I have no trouble considering good country singers good singers.

Well, may the man rest in peace. He did a lot of good music. However, as a momentary disrespect, I believe "Ring of Fire" alone disqualifies him from "greatest musician of the mid to late 20th century" title....

Cash is dead?! When did this happen? I don't really like country that much, especially some of the more "pop-sounding" or older country music but I do like some of it, and Cash was a true legend. I think we'll all miss him, even me...

tis a sign of a true artist with a solid reputation when the rock, rap, metal, industrial fans mourn the loss of a country star.
