AVS MPEG2Source Issue....
I'm a newbie, I have no skills yet. My problem is that whenever I try to make a AVS file in .txt format and run it in Windows Media Player, I get this error:
MPEG2Source: couldn't open file
(C:\test01.avs, line 2)
And I get the same error no matter where I move the file to (I moved it into the C: root folder, thinking that was the problem) and with any file I make using this method. Can anyone help me. I have tried simple things like:
Version
To other things like:
DirectShowSource("C:\test01.d2v")
BicubicResize(320,240)
I realize that I'm new, and that some else probably wrote in about this. However, you have over 52 pages in the forum help sections, and the search tool sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other things you might want to know. I'm running Windows 2000 and I downloaded the latest version of AMVapp downloaded just two days ago.

That doesn't look like he's referencing an AVS file, it looks like the error is in C:\test01.avs on line 2.MPEG2Source: couldn't open file
(C:\test01.avs, line 2)

Do you think that might be his problem? Try this dude. Right click anywhere in Explorer>Create New Text File>Change the filename (including the extension of .txt) to <filename>.avs (without the arrows of course>Double Click it, and it will open in notepad>Create your AVS script, then hit Ctrl+S to save it.TornWingedAngel wrote:I'm a newbie, I have no skills yet. That only works if your problem is what I think it is.

Oh. Hmm. Well, I was getting those kind of hassles a little while back, so I got a new version of DVD2AVI 1.76, AVISynth 2.52 and the correct mpeg2dec plugin for 2.52. Now it works really well. Try that.TornWingedAngel wrote:Bebi, that didn't do anything. That is what I was doing to try and fix it earlier.....
But, I used a different file to import into a d2v file and it worked out fine, so I am assuming that it was just a bad transcription error.
